Yes locked the crank, but took the bottom pulley off snd there is nothing in the key way? surley then the pulley will just slip?

Sorry no on the phase 1 172? Just taken mine off to re do the csm belt and there was no key present and aint sure if there was meant to be one?

Hey all, Just need to know if the bottom cambelt sprocket/pully coming off the crank shaft has a key to slot into a key way to align and lock the shaft and sprocket or is it a tapered shaft??? Cheers Scott

Right so only a slight update. Parts have started arrving. First was the engine block. 172 Phase one on 32k. I only got the block which was a little disapointing and has set thing back abit but thats what i got and have to live with it. So there it is, engine block including clutch and...

Just about to purchase a 172 manifold, would a 2001 clio manifold fit the phase one? Or is 2001 a phase 1 anyway? A reply asap would be great. Thanks guys.

Yea im not looking for the power of the clio :P more the one off of putting it in the coupe. Few more parts have arrived. Will post more pictures soon.

(172 Phase 1) Basically i have little knowledge of this engine. Just wondered if anyone had some pictures of a complete engine out of the bay maybe on a crane or somthing. Just so i know what goes where, what i need and things i will need to adapt to fit it to my coupe. Many Thanks.

Yea they did the phase 1 f7r engine 2.0 16v but frankly thats just too old. Hard to find one with low milage. And the IDE is a phase 2 engine but notorious for its problems and lack of solutions for the problems.
