Basically theres a few lads on here who have done engine conversions, just wonderd who you were insured with? Best priced companies etc? Just spoke to an right c0ck at Adrian Flux who quoted me £2500 and asked me NO details at all.
Well mate there is alot more info on my Project log on Coupe Club so if you do decided to take it on check it out. Coilies aint the best in the world (jamex) but better than lowering springs and now its fully adjustable :D they were £300 including uprated rear shocks. Thanks for the coments chaps.
Thank you mate, exhaust wise i have a cat back longlife system but will be using the custom decat to join the 172 mani to that system ( when it arrives). The power steering in mine is the same as the clio mate but not sure about the phase 1 coupe. Dials should be ok, had interior lights etc on...
Is this different on each specific engine? Or is it the same for all phase 1 172, i know its stamped on the block im just not able to get to the car this week and need to know the Engine Suffix??? Anyone able to help me out?
There is a chap on CoupeClub putting one into his coupe, theres alot of seperate parts from other cars hes having to buy but its getting there. It fits into the Coupe bay so no reason it wouldnt fit into a 197. Heres the link anyways...

Need some help, there is a coolant pipe i believe coming off the head on the top left as you look into the bay... Where does it goooo :S What does it connect too?
So today was work on car day again. The car now looks like a car once again. Got a fair bit done. We managed to fit the radiator, slam pannel, coolant hoses and also took the scuttle panel off to look at some wiring. We also fitted the head lights back in and bumper on. The bonnet is also back...
Thanks chaps, much apprechiated. And i must admit the car does deserve the engine. It has a cracking engine in the F7R but finding a young aged one of them in good nick is hard to come by. And if im honest looks no where nears as sexual as the RS.

Not a huge update but ive been working on my engine cover the last two weeks so hear is the almost finished look.

Got rather alot done so i will try and remember to put it all in. We started by putting a few more bits on the engine. Water pump is now on and the cam cover too. We also fitted the mounts into the relavant places.

Well i have the whole belt setup now, just need the correct bolt for the tensioner and the top bracket to hold the alt upright. Its just difficult to find tbh.
For the last couple of months ive been putting a clio 172 engine in my Coupe, but i have faced a few snags recently. So please help. I have two problems..
Problem 1
I have fitted the alternator, power steering pump and air con but there is a bracket that sits on top of all of these. Anyone...
Basically i took the manifold off to get at the sparks. Now the gasket needs replacing and Renault just told me that this is not avaliable on its own? Surley not? Any one able to get me a part number? Its the gasket between the top inlet and bottom inlet.
