Hi Simon,
at the moment the issue is to design it for my turbo conversion (And the 3 other guys here that have bought kits)
after that, I will seek to have it produced (if it works ok )
would hope for same price as dastek, but more controllable, and with a boost module built in, For the...
Hi guys n gals..
heres a link to quite a few pics of the f4r(t) turbo lump to go in the 172 (effectively the same engine)
I have added notes to the pics to help anyone unsure..
heres a sample..

that is why, as you get older, and after 14 years picking up these kind of bits.. (and those pics are mild to some real life events) that you slow down
the sensitivety of the throttle is slightly different until ECS reads normal (Engine coolant sensor)
However, it shouldnt do what yours does.
suggest they check the ECS as the first culprit, then the throttle pedal potentiometer.

Simon, its more the way it works, the dastek modifies signals INTO the ecu.
my unit will modify outputs OUT OF the ecu.
Full matrix rpm/load map for additional fuel.. (or leaning if necessary at certain points.)..
full r****d ignition map for on boost too.

no, not at the mo.
I have more concern for designing an add on ecu adapter that will blow the dastek away and offer potential for later Vehicle management equipped cars.
But, I am in talks with 2 companies that contacted me re them having the rights to produce the kit that I am designing...
firstly all, the later meganes use the f4r in 2 litre mode..
As far as I am aware, the f4r will fit directly to your gearbox (But not sure about overall mounting.. shouldnt be a problem though.
the main issues you will have are engine management and fueling (But mostly easily overcome...
Meant to add.. I think the flywheel could lose quite a bit of weight !!!
the idle will suffer, but I bet you can make a real difference in pick up.
Joe.
ok, I am not overly familiar with Reanult engines, most of my builds and developments have been - Rover (Buick) V8 - A Series BL, and Ford Kent engine.. odd A and LTC too.. and vauxhall 8valve inc the old 2.3.
What can I say.. ??
Quality.. superb.!
Engineering.. Superb !
Hollow cams...
the 4*4 might be a little later, but it looks promising, I am chatting up me local quikfit fitter tomorrow to use the ramps and take some good pics of under the car. That way I can visualise the changes needed.
Joe.
Lol Chun, I meant apart from you nutters that are - or will be - on the email circular list
Joe..
no probs Brun..
got the spare lump stripped today so will take some shots tomorrow and post.

ok, its simple.
jack the front of the car up and place on secure stands.. on a flat surface..
have someone lay underneath and firmly hold the roadwheel.
whilst someone turns the steering wheel rapidly from side to side look for play in the track rod end balljoint (shouldnt be any in...
