lol
Joe.. (Another way to bump it !)
hopefully every 172 that goes on, will the owner please give me a copy of the graph for research. ?
Joe
It was warm today though..
nice one dood..
Joe..
(ps - its nice to see realistic figures for a change)
Tim, btw, have you got a graph plot of the torque m8 ??.. I need a few to average out for the turbo mods ??.
Joe.
they cant even follow a standard for 2 graphs.. they are both showing increases(see the box which says original in it on the plot)
174 I dont think so...
note there is no temp reading for air (atmospheric) , or pressure reading.
DIN standards for bhp quoting say a tem of 20 deg C and a...
Hiya Simon.
the 160 at the wheels rollers should give you your dosh back ... they are taking the piss.
the best thing will be the unichip to take advantage.
I would still only expect about a 10-15 bhp increase at the flywheel with all the mods.
Are you coming to the RR day at RE...
Hi Monk,
I would imagine it is fairly straightforward but am unsure as to the intricasies of the megane.
If you want any parts let me know.
I have 2 gearboxes and 2 complete rear subframes with diffs,, *but, unfortunately they are not cheap..
mail me at Captainslarty@ntlworld.com if...

I am errin on the side of Nick here
it all depends what you want though.
the standing quarter is the best test of accleration there is.
but the tracks are the best test of driver and handling..
do both if ya can afford it
Joe
Hi M8, more like 24% overall.
and yes, I will certainly be at the northern rr day..
will bring along a turbo conversion (Not fitted lol) and turbo modded engine to discuss.
Joe
(oh, and Tim, sorry to be a disbeliever in the reliability and accurateness of many uk rolling roads, but I would be AMAZED if you had 200 now..
probably more like 175-180
have you an RR printout ?.
Joe
Hi Tim,
check the posts by me n ben re the turbo conversion and calulations,
the theory is the same.
the biggest problem you will have is where to mount the supercharger.
Also, you will need low comp forged pistons.. are they included in the price ?. (otherwise they could cost you up...
Hi Nick, the other thread got a bit graphic intensive
I agree though, yes.. there will be a point fairly easily reached that the clio chassis is pushed beyond the limits with a highly tunable turbo fitment.
4x4 is the way to go.
as for fitting this to the 172 or other models, the front...
sorry, it showed all the info I wanted Chun, but missed the modifyed ve line for 2000 which now reads
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/captainslarty/172/moddedve2k.jpg
the calculation and maps were and are based on this figure.
which, is still too low (IMHO)
the plot from re should sort...
Nice one Chun..
my formulas are..
convert litres to Cubic inch
= (litres-capacity*1000)/16.39
and vaf= capacity in ((CI/144)/12)*rpm/2)/100
multiply lot by VE.
long winded,b ut fits the other calcs in the spreadshert I wrote
They produce the same reuslts though
