iirc the Sachs dampers cost like 10 times more than the ones on the standard 182/Cup. I would imagine that coilovers are a far more viable proposition in terms of cost against performance.
Its all very well saying dont drive fast in the wet, but no matter how slowly you drive you may still have to make drastic manouvers in case of an emergency. I know I would be more comfortable with a tyre that would provide me with a little bit of grip in the wet, just in case.

You should get an 03 or at a push a 53 for 8k imho. Although Ive seen people trying to sell 02 plates for like 7,800. lol.
Be careful as imports tend to sell for about £1000 less than UK cars, which may explain why touve seen 02 plates up for more tan 03s. It doesnt make much difference...
