Pah! My car sounding rough?:o Never I tell you!
Im not saying that I dont turn up the pace on my car a bit now and then, but theres a time and a place!!
Nope! Ha ha!
My mate Smoothed Clio (Pete) has beaten me off the lights sometimes in his RT when Ive "bogged". If youre sharp, or the other person fouls-up, then some really extraordinary things can happen!!
Hmmm. Get someone to inspect the steering rack and the column from under the car. You could bribe a quiet Kwik Fit with some digestives so that you could put it up on a ramp to look for yourself (it works!).
Have you big wheels on there? Do your local roads have more potholes than cats...
How old is the car? I know that the steering rack is a common failure on 100k plus mileage 16v/Willys.
No idea about the rushing air. Maybe youre engine has grown a Turbo?!:p
My flatmate and I both have Valvers and a healthy interest in cars.
He had a 1.2 16v as a courtesy car while the "real" 16v was in for a new steering column. So what did we do with it?...we ragged it of course! I think my opinions therefore should be pretty bias free.
Off the mark its...
Just as well then that Im an ex-bike mechanic! I have all those sorts of tools anyway.
Ive left the car with a small auto electricians in Cardiff to sort it all out. I hope they can get around the rounded out head!:(
I had someone who thought I was in the wrong try to beat me up once. The problem is that he thought I was in the wrong and therefore had the right to have a pop. Sadly, he was very much in the wrong himself - not me. You cant tell someone theyre wrong when they want to hit you as theyll jsut...

Dont you just love the way they all blink together!!
I feel sorry for you having to drive such a slow car for six weeks! (Hume hits big man on nose and runs...

Its not badly rounded, but it is right up the cambelt side of the engine - and when the engine is sat in the car, youve got about an inch or two of room between it and the car shell. Thats why Im thinking the engine will have to come out, to allow some room to do it. Im hoping that wont be the...

Dont worry, I get it too! Its becuase the 16v is a fairly rare sight and it looks so beefed up against a normal Clio. People rarely know waht they are.

I had a look today, even took the bonnet off. But the adjuster nut that allows you to untension/tension the auxillary drive belt (including alternator) is rouded out. So I let it be - and am now wondering what on earth to do. To make things worse, Im off to Italy for a week on Wednesday, so...
Maybe its the quality of the picture? The only metallic red available was Naples Red I thought on a car of that age.
Interestingly enough, I reckon that the flat reds are rarer on the Phase 2 Clio 16v. Also, there doesnt seem to be a definitve colour for the Clio 16v - unlike say the Saxo...
