    Rear Disc Brake

    brakes work on an average ratio of fronts 60%,rears 40% as a general rule although road conditions,vehicle load and speed all change this ratio.to convert the rear you just need a 172 rear axle although the cost might mean its not really worth it.

    Cooling probs

    i wouldnt have thought so because your cooling fan shouldnt be needed whilst driving if your cooling systems ok(even a low temp one). so it shouldnt affect the normal running temp of the engine so in turn wont lower the heater matrix temp either.

    plip codes are avaliable on renault net.key numbers so new blades can be cut are not.they are in the service book or on the dealers computer records.a new complete lock kit isnt that much as a last resort.

    Standard Valver Alarm

    remove the siren,find the ecu and unplug it.with the alarm being that old you may not be able to get keys for it anymore.i know for definate you cant get spare parts anymore for some older alarms.

    trouble with battery

    also check the charging rate with electrical consumers on(lights,hrw etc)to make sure the alternator can compensate for drains on the battery.

    you would only benefit from a boost valve if it is tuned after fitting and the valve adjusted.the fitting instructions say they need adjusting once fitted as well.

    we set them up at work using the diagnostic equipment.you read off the potentiometer and when it displays a certain value(as per repair manual)you tighten it up.

    resistance is in ohms.i would have to look up the proper values but you can still check for a smooth decrease/increase in resistance as you gradually press and release the throttle pedal.

    if you strip down the siren,disconnect the batterys for 10 mins and then rebuil/refit it that sometimes cures siren problems.was an official repair from cobra at one time.

    oid clios are prone for water in the computers as well.you would be able to visually see the corrosion if you removed the computer.

    flasher unit is the large relay near the fuse box in the passenger footwell.would have to check exactly which one it is if you get stuck.

    there are quite a few notes and solutions on renault net.every dealer has access to renault net and has the index of tech notes.which note is applicable depends on certain vehicle details and displayed fault codes.best get your dealer to check.

    tell the garage to observe the wheel sensor speed outputs when moving they will probably find one of the sensor reading is out compared to the others.look at the sensor for damage and check the target teeth on the driveshaft/rear discs as well(eg tooth missing).abs is active above about 6mph
