Gotta love this welcoming forum...
If you like it mate then nobody elses opinion matters, I think the stripes are kinda cool and look good against the blue. Not a big fan of the rear lights or sunstrip though. The exhaust would look really cool if you cut out a section of the bumper and...
Just having a browse on Ebay for wheels and was just wondering... what other makes/models will fit the same as the Clio with regards to wheels? For example, there's a nice set o there but the description only pays reference to fitting Saxo's and Pug 106/306's. Would these fit a Clio as well...
Does anyone make alloys similar to these?

Can imagine these looking lovely on my baby...
I went into a dealer to ask if they had any Mk1 172's, or whether they could get hold of any... the receptionist looked at me like I had shot her Grandma and shat on her head, before getting a Salesman.
lol ;) cheers buddy
Which Shell station was it TomS? Do you go to Uni nearby or commute to somewhere distant?
It is always cool when you see an old car of your's being cared for, I've only got one that I still see regularly and it's owned by a 17 year who I know is going to start fitting...
What if I have a year's NCB from my first insurance policy (about 3 yrs ago) but then didn't use that year's NCB on my following policy, with which I now have 2 more years? Do I technically have 3 in total or would the first one be taken away?
Interesting question, not sure myself.
I'd imagine that the hotter the outside temperature is, then the engine bay will get even hotter again, so I suppose the induction kit witk 'cold' air feed will benefit performance, just perhaps not as much as when the outside temperature is colder... ?
She's driven on a provisional for about 4/5 years now, and has been behind the wheel of some 'relatively' powerful cars (basic stuff like 1.8 Astras and the like) so I'm not too worried about the shock of the power, but the "new driver curse" that comes with increased confidence...
Ah well...
Well, when I got the 172, it was decided that it would be 'our' car: helps reduce the repayments!
But, the Mrs is a provisional licence holder and insurance companies wouldn't let her near my policy. Well now she's about 6 weeks away from a test but there I am thinking that it still won't work...
The bad boy admittedly looks cool in that pic, but I wouldn't do it to a Mk1 172 in Black, to rare to drastically change like that.
Get it lowered on a nice of of 16/17's ;)
I got a Ph1 because I preferred the front looks of it over the Ph2, and also have found it to be amazing value for money since.
It kind of combines some of the toys of the full fat Ph2 172 with the weight of the Cup, albeit in a slightly older design. It works for me... :)
Mainly Optimax but have been forced to use normal Unleaded on a long motorway journey home when EVERY filling station was out of Super...
Nothing difference in performance but MPG was definitely worse.
Looks okay, but then it looks pretty standard in the pics so the flip isn't really captured.
I'd say get rid of the bonnet if there are no really plans to modify the bodywork further, if there are further plans to do bodywork then I'd probably say get a respray in something a bit classier...
The Clio, it's a nicer looking car by quite a distance. According to Evo though, the 0-60 times are closer... 7.7 for the Mini and 7.1 for the 182.
Still, the Mini just doesn't look agressive.
