If you dont get torque steer in your 182 you must either
a) Be gay
or
b) drive like a gay
Whilst relatively low, 200 Nm is good torque for a standard 2.0 na engine and its certainly enough to tug the wheel of my 172 about a bit!!

Ooo... never knew you could play about with mods on elephant..... they want £200 for chip, zorst and filter for my 172, which sounds fairly reasonable to me..:devilish:
Must admit most of the times posted from Crail are consistently quicker than most. Mind you, from the videos Ive seen Crail looks like a bit of a tin pot place!!
lol ^^ amen.
I have no real passion for Clios thought if Im honest. I wanted a new car with a warranty with the best performance and spec for the least money. 172 stood out head and shoulders above anything else. Thats why I chose it. not becuase some sl*g called Nicole drove one once.
Oh...
The Williams is the best hot hatch ever. Fair enough. But the 182 runs it close. And given the restrictions placed on car manufacturers these days thats a pretty good effort imho.
The difference is closer to 3mm iirc..... and if you can spot that with the naked eye, Ill blow your bugle.

Tom.... b*****d!!!
If it wasnt for me typing my witty retort I would have got there first!!
I thought it was just because it was lighter.... The gear ratios on the Mk2 actually help it claw back the time it loses on the 0-60 dash against the Mk1..... the 0-100 times are almost identical.
Mk2 172 ratios
1st 5.3 mph / 1000 rpm
2nd 8.7 mph / 1000 rpm
3rd 12.3 mph / 1000 rpm...
Get the stripes. Finish the car off nicely.
Youll have to spread the word that the stripes are in honour of the great Gordini Renaults though, because nobody I know (i.e. non-car nut friends) have ever heard of them and think they make the car look a bit boy racer-ish. I really like them though.
I dunno. Id argue whether a 306 would be that much faster through some bends. It was more about the composure and the feel when cornering, rather than the out and out pace. The Clio requires you to really take it by the scruff of the neck, whereas the 306 is much more stable and easier to drive...
