I blip the throttle on downshifts with the outside of my foot. Still not very good at it mind. When you get it right and pewrform a seamless gearchange under hard braking you realise why people do it. So much smoother.
Thats f**king gorgeous. As if the Vee doesnt attract enough attention, with that paint job its about as subtle as a 7ft transvestite. Just how it should be.:D
Look at this thread if you want 200bhp. PM y0z2a for details.

Only alters the exhaust cam iirc. Its done by a solenoid activated by oil pressure iirc. Its active between 1500rpm and 5000rpm. thats about all I can remember. BenR will tell you for sure!!
Spot on Scud. They always say that what the lower clios lack in build quality and space, theres very little that can touch them in terms of driver enjoyment and fun. When you drive one, you realise how rough the 172 is. No jarring over potholes or dancing about on the brakes, no nasty torque...
:o Now that would be nice!! I love fourth gear.
I hate changing into fifth when giving it some. Everything starts slowing down, it would be great to hold on to fourth for a few more rpm...
Gear ratios were altered slighty for the 182, but the 172 Mk2 is
38 in first
62 in second
90 ish in third
112 in fourth
143 in fifth (theoretical)
iirc
Ratios for 182 are;
1st 5.4 mph / Thousand rpm = 39.25
2nd 8.9 mph / Thousand rpm = 64.25
3rd 12.5 mph / Thousand rpm =...
Yoz mention the cams to me a few weeks back. Sound ace.
So how does she go? Is all the power up top or is there a good dose of midrange? Thats what these cars really need imho.
My Germans not the best but does that site say it uses a 2 litre V6(286PS) as opposed to the 3 litre v6 (226PS) used in the strassenversion (road version)???

I have a copy that Ive pretty much read, i could send it to you if you want.... Lovely mug shot of you in there!!
In fact Im surprised they didnt at least offer to send you a copy for the use of your car!! Cheeky Beggars!!
Yup. Civic fits into small family category iirc. The Clio and CTR are only compared with each other because the performance is so similar.
Cars in 182s class are ST150, 206 GTi 180, C2 VTS, Ibiza FR etc. Basicall the CLio punches above its weight.

In all fairness, if your considering mpg and storage space when looking for a new car you shouldnt be looking at a Vee!! If finances allowed Id have one tomorrow.......
£6000 in total. Wow. Thats a lot of money for a young lad to spunk on a car. Fair play to you. At least hes having a proper go at it, and not just sticking a massive spoiler on the boot.... not to my tastes, but Ill be interested to see the end result.
lol.... head against brick wall time again Tom....
For Clio rival, think C2 VTS, Fiesta ST150 etc..... both of which get knocked into a cocked hat by the current model.
I think they meant 3 gears, not three changes. i.e a change into third just before 60.
Incidentally, I find my 172 to be quicker upto the ton if I change to third just before 60....
Whilst it might rattle a bit, youll find that the Clio is mechanically quite sound. Whilst theyre not as well put together as the Civic, they certainly dont just fall to bits.
Its as quick as a CTR in most situations, is way more fun to drive and has a spec list that puts the Civic to shame...
