Im in lichfield a fair bit. Have seen a few 182s including a Yellow one in Woolies car park. I have a 53 Silver 172 with Cup spoiler and Splitter and Turinis. Give me a flash if you see me a bout.
lucky bugger....
I dont know if the V6 alarm is the same (I presume it is) but on the 172/182s you can disable the ultrasonics by swiching the ignition on and off three times. When you get out and lock the car you should hear four beeps to confirm it. Might help in the short term if its the...
Nope the interior of the Mk2 172 is a massive improvement over the mk1.
Over 50% of parts were changed in between the two including chassis changes.
The mk1 I drove was much softer and had more roll than my mk2. May just have been a bad one though. Also the gearing was improved on th mk2...
Just to back up davyboys point, they do wear very well - mine have shown no real signs of wear after 4000 miles - the shoulder of the tyre on the contis wore away very quickly and the 539s are cheaper too.
I dont get on with the A539s. Theyre not a bad tyre in the dry. I think it depends a lot on your driving style/ability. Yoz describes the exact feeling I get from the tyres and whereas to an experienced driver like him it means progressive feel and useability, it makes and average driver like me...
Depends what you look for in a car. The people telling you to get a Cup probably do track days - and if you going to track it the Cup is definitely the best choice. If its a daily driver, I would pick a mk2 172. Looks better, better interior, xenons, better suspension (imho) amd in reality...
.... went pretty well. Just about the furthest Ive been in her. Comfortable seats, cruise control a god send ( brilliant on an empty motorway) 38.7 MPG on the way there.
I thought a good run would clear it out a bit as I generally make a lot of short journeys. Quite the opposite as it turned...
I cant pass my mates A3 (same engine) until 75+ in a straight line. Theyre quite quick.
The 0-60 and top speed dont really tell the whole story. theyre quick in the midrange.
Run out of puff as the speeds get higher though. Between say 20 and 70 theyres nothing in it. Still soundds like a...
Dont hold your breath....lol.
Such a shame that such excellent motors are let down by the dealers. Ive been nothing short of gobsmacked at how ace my Clio is, but the dealers have been woeful and the only real downside to owning one.
No, the assumption was that the text indicated the car you drive. And it was a fair assumption at that. Mind you, I cant see the word tw*t in the text anywhere, but thats the assumption Ive made...;)
You said you had no comment!! ;)
Although if that car makes 202 bhp and 165 odd ft/lb Ill bear my arse in Woolworths window. On a Saturday.:D
Not doubting its quick, but the figures seem ridiculous for those mods from what Ive seen from other cars on here.
