I reckon... PS is Pferde Starke iirc, a german equivalent of BHP PS = 75 kg-m (542.5 ft-lb) per second of work, while 1 BHP = 550 ft-lb per second. So, 1 BHP = 1.013825 PS. Tbh, its so little they could be considered equivalent for the figures were talking about.
