Erm...I know everybody has their own ideas of distance, but I thnk that 300 miles isnt that bad!! Yours trulys valver has covered a 1000 miles at a time a number of times (oh those crazy days eh....).
Ahhh...just the sort of news I like to hear! Thanks anyway. Do you reckon the CV would last another 3 weeks/800 miles until I get home - assuming its "ok" at the moment? I know and trust a garage at home you see.
Anybody else have any ideas about the brakes?

Ahhh...finally some sun in Edinburgh!! I decided to celebrate by taking my pride and joy out for a burn. As per usual, the A198 out towards Gullaine delivered the goods in terms of a decent car to challenge on the twisties. Last time it was what I now know to be a 1993 Audi S2 (all 220bhp of...
Er...think Vauxhall are a definite no no. Also, I remember haering that you cant stick wheels from a rear wheel drive car on a front drive - and vice versa (cant remember why). That logically excludes most old Volvo and Ford models - and most modern BMW and Merc models.
Id bung some Clio...

There was a guy who worked in the next door shop to us when I was working p/t in Halfords. He had a 5 GT Turbo that he had tuned to 200+bhp and hardly used.
His runaround was an N-plate RT. It had 90k on the clock (he got it from his mum on 30k) - and he had NEVER had it serviced!!! I...

I cant image the people having a good time in prison when the other inmates find out who they are.
I heard the news live this morning on the Radio. Dampened down my day - its just so sad.

Yeah definitely agree about creature comforts (mmmm...leather) - but the Willy isnt exactly poverty-spec!
Ive not had the benefit of actually driving a Williams, but have raced two (two of my mates have them). Theyre not an awful lot quicker in a straight line Id say than a 16v, so have to...

Dont do it mate! I once went to get it done, booked it in and everything - and the guy point blank refused to touch it as soon as the bonnet was open!! He said it would ruin the car!
So I took myself of to Halfords, got an "engine cleaning kit" and lots of Tesco Value toothbrushes - and hey...

My girlfriend literally cries if I take the car over 4000rpm (when the induction noise changes and it starts to howl ). So no racing for me when shes around!!
Hmmm...this is the age old question for Renaults. By and large, the Clio (all since 1991) are pretty tough. The 16v/Williams are a different case - though arent "unreliable" or poorly build - more on this in a moment.
The 1.4 Energy engine is very straightforward, is dead reliable and is...
