I was 15 when I saw my first 16v. It was in the showroom at Renault Cardiff and was in metallic green with leather (ultra rare, as I now know). At the time I was with my parents collecting what was to be my first car - a special edition 1.2 Clio. I knew the 16v was special, but it was mainly...

If it was simple as a HT lead/spark plug/coolant etc then I reckon the guy would have had it sorted. People very rarely tell you the truth.
Why would he not fix it for say £200 tops (if a small problem) and sell it for £3500 rather than making at least a £1000 loss for a problem like that??
Oh yeah...
I reckon you learnt your lesson about carrying passengers while racing that Pug Quicksilver!! So do it alone, otherwise the extra torque that the RS2000 has will do you no favours!
This is exactly what I have!!!!!!
WOW!! Someone else finally has this same annoying problem as me. Sorry mate but havent any good news - cannot tell for sure what it is, but seems to be exhaust-related.
I reckon its a catalyst gasket seal or a manifold to downpipe gasket myslef. Will...
Not a Rod Stewart fan really - unless that WAS his Williams of course!! It was an absolutely immaculate Williy 3.
How about Sunday some time then??
Edinburgh is a fab place - but the roads are pure poo in terms of surfaces.
Dont be fooled into thinking that the RS2000 has the sort of pedigree engineering, expertise or ability that something like the RS Cosworth or plain Focus have.
The staight line 0-60 will be closer than you think, but the 16v is a vastly more capable all-rounder.
Yeah, some of the 206 GTi tests show 0-60 in 7.4 and 0-100 in 24 secs. I know this must be a proud moment for you, but consider this:
I raced a BMW Z3 M Roadster a few months ago out of a tight roundabout and onto a dual carriageway. Basically, I stayed with it up to about 85 then he got a...
Have to agree, the 206 is a 2.0 with nearly 30bhp more than the 1.6 16v Clio. The GTi is the current 206 performance flagship and more effort will have gone into its development as its aimed at the hot hatch market.
The Clio 1.6 16v is good - but its not all that different in terms of...

How about a meet in Edinburgh? Ive been here for a few weeks now and have seen loads of 172s and a Willy 3 (parked next to the castle on Sunday). So I know youre all here somewhere!
Lets get some cars to meet up and show me around! Im sure there are some proud "Edinburghians" (!) on here!
Summer grad job - with the Royal Bank of Scotland. Didnt really want to be here, but the Festival is on, the city is pretty and my g/f is away for three months - so I thought why not.
I was just out in my car on Saturday, using it the once a week Im using it now (blowing exhaust, havent found a good garage in Edinburgh yet - am cycling to work!).
Ive not driven the car above about 4000rpm in the last month or so. I know its hard to believe, but Im just taking things...
