Basically, you can ignore the mpg figures of the cars for this comment. What it boils down to is that you will use more revs in the 1.2 16v - and will consequently get worse mpg compared to the 1.5 dCi than a quick official comparison would suggest. For example, to go from 30-70 at full chat...
76.3 mpg - holy poo!!
I guess if youre doing major miles then many will be on the M/Way. Stick to 56mph and tell us what you can eck out of it!
The whole bhp thing is tricky. You may be 10bhp down, but Ill bet theres stacks more torque. Depends on your driving style. If you like...
Erm...I guess for Scotland maybe!
The 2.0 115bhp GTi doesnt deserve the badge if you ask me. It doesnt get it abroad - its simply a 2.0 badged Golf (so if you see a 2.0 badged Golf, its an import).
My girlfriends dad has one and its basically tuned to deliver loads of torque at low revs...
Squirt:
Id be the one with the black 16v with leather! Hope Im not being singled out for ignoring you!
Im only up in Scotland for the summer, so am not a true Scotsman - Im actually from the West.

Tell me about it!! I can safely say that northern England and Scotland are easily as good as Wales (my homeland"align=absmiddle>).
But Wales is better due to less traffic, and the south is better for having more worthwhile cars to use on said roads!

Yeah, travel runs in the family! Ive been to China four times now, Tibet, Russia, done the Trans Siberian Railway - so coming to Southend was no sweat!
Did John OGroats to Lands End last summer. Saw loads of good roads to drive on - especially in the North.

Must be the one - goes from Kendal to Penrith. I cycled over it last year doing John OGroats to Lands End and thought "wow! Ive got to bring my car here". So I did!

Oh yeah - forgot. We did a Clio 16v tag team bashing of an MG ZR 160!
A blue MG ZR (you know, the re-done Rover 25) came blasting past as myself and Mat were cruising along the M1. Mat gave chase and overtook it with plenty to spare (very cool sight). Then I decided to up the pace too and...

Well, well!! It was definitely worth the trek from Edinburgh for the meet - fantastic cars and very friendly people. Its really funny meeting people and greeting them as their Cliosport nicknames (fortunately, but unimaginatively, mines Ben H).
I thought Id be travelling back solo after we...

I was at the Sighthill dealer yesterday (getting mine fixed). Saw a blue 172, but dont think it was a Cup as it was all dirty. Id have expected that theyd be keeping the test car in good nick!
Well Im leaving at about 9-10 am if GR is interested!
Got to be said that it isnt much worse of a drive than what Nick is doing.
If Im correct thats going to Derbyshire (Hill Power) then to the West (RR). Thats hardly less driving than my journey!
I just thought "oh bugger it, why...

Hiya mate!
OK - this has been a major decision!
I had the MOT done on me old motor today and the bill was £350 (about £320 more than I was expecting!). So Im thinking...
a) Its about time I got some use out of this darn car Ive spent £3000 on in the last 6 months
b) I might as well...
