Im sure the 1.4 16vs 0-60 is circa 12 seconds. Now I know it may feel that bit quicker, but 9 secs 0-60 is actually not possible to attain without nitrous, a turbo, or supercharging. If a 172 could reduce its 0-60 by 25% with a filter, exhaust etc it would pull the 0-60 in just over 5 secs...
Had my blowing exhaust fixed today! I guess that I might have got some crucial extra inches with that sorted
Im not exactly disappointed with having the edge on a car with 210bhp! I guess that a car of that age would probably weigh circa 1400kg (?) - and therefore the power-to-weight...
So many people come on here with a 16v question or just saying hello - heres a fill in Ive been saving for this kind of situation
The success of the 172 and V6 Clio versions has drawn much attention to Renault’s hot hatches once again. Good as they may be however, Renault Sport has been...
Thing is, it depends on how much you can afford to run a car. Mine might have cost shy of £5k, but has cost me on average £300 a month to keep on the road. Can you afford the costs of an exotic car?
Id be tempted to buy THE nicest Williams 3 I could find and just run it without ever...
Er...I wouldnt count on it!
Youll find that its a pretty good match for a normal-spec Valver - 130bhp per ton, 0-60 in 8 seconds and buckets of torque. Youll probably have one in a 16v, but not by much if hes really giving it some!
The old ST200 is the real one to look for - 202bhp and...

Well...I have some 1.2 badges from my old car...and I was thinking...
But to be honest I dont think anybody would notice them as they wouldnt have time to look at the badges!!
I didnt get to race the S3 or CTR really, we were all just going for it at the same time! But I didnt lose an inch!
I definitely was losing the Audi estate though, but more because of the lead I accumulated over him at lower speeds (if wed have started at 90+ then hed probably eventually...

Yeah, each to their own and so on. Theres no problem adding badges if you so wish.
I think that when youve got the real thing that you tend to look down on people a bit - especially when theyre trying to look like you. But I also think that when you havent got the real thing then you...

Cut and paste this discussion into a Word file and print it off. Seal in in an envelope and put it at the bottom of your cupboard, desk or whatever.
Dont look at it for about 5 years.
Then get it out of the envelope and read it.
By then (if you havent killed yourself...
Youre probably right mate, but Im basically trying my luck - might as well! I was just hoping that someone with a mint Williams fancied a swap - as unlikely as that may be!
Oh yeah...
Im glad that twofast has also calmed down a bit to asking if Id let him see if he could keep up - rather than saying outright he would beat a 172/16v!
Sounds like a bit of competitive spirit - and Im very happy to oblige.
Anytime, near Edinburgh, Im willing to illustrate...
Hmmm...yes I made it all up, just for you "twofast". And of course youll notice that I claim to have slayed them all as my car is sooooo much faster than all of them put together
Anyway (for everyone else), yeah it was so good! Mainly the Audi estate that it was with - over about 20 miles...

I had a 1.2 Clio ages ago. I did loads of stuff to it (and secretly wanted it to be a 16v). I never stuck any badges on the car. In fact, the best thing to do is take them off. Everybody knows that all the fast cars never have bages - which is why Ive blacked the "16v" on the side of my...
The 16v only ever came with the F7P (F16 ie) engine - which was the same 1.8 as in the 19 16v. I absolutely certain that ALL the standard 16v models were 1.8s. The Williams was the 2.0.
I fancy a change becuase Ive realised that Im basically looking after the Valver as if it were a classic - i.e. not commuting in it, getting it so perfect and generally molly-coddling it a bit. Id like a Williams though just becuase Im never going to be using a car like this for daily use - and...
There are two (before it was lowered) in the gallery. Im not sure how to put them here as I havent got them on a web-page anywhere. I could e-mail some if anybody is interested.
