The government doesn't want you on the road anymore, didn't you get the memo?
Vic, get your car to someone with a CLIP and most of that can be reolved for under £100. The biggest change with the new rules is the compulsory testing of SRS circuits but also all MIL's being checked for correct...
In reality mate, what with petrol costing what it does I think more people will be driving 1.2's this time next year. Some say now the Libya 'thing' is over fuel prices will fall but they're blatently in denial. £2 a litre this time next year!
Stick with the engine you've got and enjoy the car...
I've got a Clio III 1.2TCe on my drive for my better half - very nippy and fun but as above, for the price of the parts it wouldn't be worth it. Even if you managed to find a crash damaged vehicle I'd put in a cavalier guess at around £2.5-3k and for what 100PS  We only paid £7600 for our...
Where's your "area" mate? Any garage/trader that say's its a finance repossesion is probebrly saying that as they've got no history for the vehicle... assume it needs to be done.
Mick
Black tape, de-soldering, etc all dodgy trade tricks that will not work from January Vicky as ABS/TCS/ESP/SRS/EM lights must all (where equipment is fitted) be observed to come on at pre-ignition check and then go off and stay off post-ignition. If you have airbags installed in the car and the...
I don't know... maybe you've answered your own question though as to why its not working now in that its something you've not done when you've changed the engine again?
It may not be moving when the car is running and standing but when its moving, say you hit a bump, it could force it to vibrate and so move. Like throttle position sensors any kind of abnormal movement in the mounting or assembly effects the output signal and so causes running issues which is...
Dave, very good point and normally i'd agree but as per the OP he's already done a couple of coil packs with no difference... deffo needs scoping at this point.
That's how Fiat does it I believe with the "CITY" button on the Puntos... either that or it ramps the pump speed I forget now but yeah, it will be floatly light.
I sympathise mate as these intermittent problems are indeed frustrating for everyone involved but keep with it and don't let it put you off the car. From the sounds of it the second place (reno tech?) do know their stuff if they're even in possession of a scope so let them at it again.
First...
So did you unbolt the motor from the main mechanism frame? If so are you 100% sure you've re-fitted the motor in the correct position to the frame assembly? Failure to do so means the wipers work in the oppersite direction (Saw someone do this on a Corsa C and they just watched it lock up and...
Unplugging the EGR valve/position sensor assembly will only trip the MIL to come on all the time and won't really do much more than make it run worse/smoke like a train and IIRC the Clio II with the '65 1.5 K9K doesn't have a MAF and uses a MAP sensor so that can be ruled out. Diagnostics first...
Speed signal is derrived from the ABS ring gear which is interpruted via the ABS Module and sent to the ECM. This then sends it to the UCH which works out the speed based on the rolling radius programmed to it and sends it to everything else such as dash clocks and ePAS that needs the input...
It *should* be okay but the genuine Renault items are around £47 so you've not really saved much cash. Are you 100% sure it is the sensor at fault and not something else such as the target wheel or even the wiring?
It sounds like a Level 1 fault and really needs diagnostics matey - I've got a K9K coming in today for a similar issue but i'm sure its Thermoplungers at fault.
The K9K is normally a simple enough unit to work on and could be a MAF, EGR or a glow plug/thermoplunger fault but whatever you do...
