No problem. Don't be one of those people that doesn't come back in to post the solution. So annoying going through threads of problems with no definitive answer LOL.
All depends what you're into I suppose. I'd much rather rack some miles up in the car and stay out in the middle of no where than go abroad and lie on a beach for a week. I just don't see the appeal in it.
I'm 99% sure it's the coilpack pal.
Take the inlet plenum off (the bit with "RenaultSport" on it), this will reveal the top of the coils which plug onto the spark plugs. To remove them simply give them a firm pull. Then 1 at a time lie them on something metal and get someone to turn the key...
From the coilpack there is a lead that goes all the way to sit on top of the spark plug. Unplug it from the spark plug end leaving the spark plug in the engine.
Couple of ways, best of them being find someone with one you can borrow.
Other than that if you get someone in the car, and take the coils out 1 at a time and lie them on something metal where they wont roll off etc. Get someone to crank the engine and if there is a spark that coil is fine...
OOooohhhhh. Aye tis a good one that. I love getting in my friends MX5 regardless of the temperature with the roof off. It's hilarious.
Fingers crossed Friday I'll have my other friends Mk1 Golf Cabriolet running, then even more roof off action :D
Coilpack pal. Try and start the engine and use a bit of throttle to keep it going.
Mine did this and it STUNK of egg when the car was running. So bad it made my ex missus vomit after we got out of the car.
That sucks. I'm skint because I decided to borrow £500 off the rents last month. Paying back money on pay day is painful :(
A few of us off here/ex members/friends are usually around a couple of nights in the week. Will drop you a PM when I'm next out and about.
Looked like an awesome trip Rob. The Z4 looks epic and it's making me want one :(
Need to get myself back up to the lakes over a weekend tbh, convince my mates dad to give me and him the boat. Not driven up there in a while and it's not far from me anyway.
Oh and your missus...<3
Glad you got it back in time pal! Looked like you got there for the good weather, it's all snowy now as JD has just proven!
You're taking me for a top down spin in this at CSS, you have no choice in the matter.
Keep your wig on. What is it with people purposely finding things I've commented on to give me abuse? Adam did it in a spotted thread.
People taking the higher ground when in actual fact they are clogging up genuine threads. Get a life.
Oh, and you're welcome Joe. You going to be at the...
Full r****d. You just went there.
The reason it states X mileage or X years is because they deem that within X years the belt will be deteriorated. It's not a case of "Oh it's been used for 5 years now so it's probably worn out." it's to do with the longevity of the part itself. Even more...
