I think its the bit under the centre section rattling, does it need to be moved away from the exhaust towards the car body, as I pulled it away from the car, and now its rattling like crazy, worse than before i started messing.
speak to fred, last time I heard he has one already polished, so he can do a swap with yours.
I think its called the plenum now.
If you do it yourselves the best way is to use sandpaper, not a rotary tool as it takes too much metal off if you are nto careful.
I'll be doing mine soon.
At £36 now , its gonna go for cheap! These are nearly £200 from the stealers.
I have the lower grill available as well. Will come free with the bumper if bidding goes above 90.:clown:
I went to renault wolves to look at a 172, was only there a few minutes and he give me the keys, no questions. So i went for a little spin on my own.
I think i am gonna keep it till the right buyer comes along. looks like I could get £200 if someone is desperate for an exhaust they can bolt straight in.
Rebecca is an artist, so its gonna be a sculpture in the front room. :D
hmmm... could do with money, I have nowhere to store it, and my girlfriend doesnt want any more parts in her bedroom.
Anyone thinking of selling up want an exhaust?
My exhaust has had a new centre section so it is in two parts with the collar to connect everything back together.
whats it worth? If its worth bugger all I am gonna butcher the centre section for the flange:evil:
water?thats what i use, just be careful( bag up any bits that look like they'll get damaged when wet) and use the hosepipe.
Dont forget to wax and polish too.
All wipes i have used so far leave a white film on the screen making it worse than before.
I had a fiddle with the one behind the engine, by the exhaust manifold, and I think I have made things worse.
Is is screw on or welded, or held on by the spunk of elves?
An advice on what its rattling against, because i pushed it away from the manifold slightly, but now its worse!:(
probably.lol. its related to the resonant frequency of the item, if its loose, it will be more noticeable, blah, blah, cant be bothered with science this late, my eyes hurt.lol.
my centre section was broke and sounded like a grinder at just around 4100 revs
