we have had a memo stating that the spring missing is normal although it does sound unsafe to me.your dealer might fit youone under warranty but you would have to take it up with them.
the knocking is the shocker tops.there is a mod but sometimes it doesnt work and no new solutions have been released yet.If you want to reject it contact renault customer services as a first step.
the oil feed has the capability of supplying a lot of oil under high pressure,so that will be spraying out+the wind caused by you driving it about will be blowing it about+the inlet will be sucking air into the engine.there is ever chance all the oil vapour/particles blowing around would get...
the obd can only test the cat under certain conditions(a certain revs for probably about 40 secs).these condition arent met very often and it has to do it three times so evetually you will get a light on but if its driven hard all the time it will probably take ages to carry out the three tests.
i find the cup feels quite twitchy although it always seem to go around corners well enough if i think sod it and just keep going.dont like it in the wet though.
everything gearbox will produce a small amount of noise just because of the way they are designed.best bet would be to go to the dealer and let them roadtest it with you and see what they think.
a 16v engine would fit in easy enough but you would all the running gear(inc rear axle but get an rsi one because there designed to fit clios with normal rear arches,16vs are flared),everything from under the bonnet, subframe+steering, exhaust and all brakes/suspension.if you are going to do it...
if its a new clio then its because it has electric power steering instead of the oil type power steering.the ratios on the electric steering are limited due to the design.
i have done all that to my mates clio and on the dyno it was about 180bhp.the cams were from kent and gave 26bhp the rest was made up with the head work, chip, exhaust and induction kit.i also stripped the bottem end and replaced all gaskets+big end shells.
mainly because the suspension/steering is more of a sporty set up.the amount you have to move the steering wheel is reduced to make the vehicle more controllable at high speed but this will affect your parking manuveability(not sure how to spell that, can you tell!)
