Don't really know the answers I'm afraid mate, but I know that my clutch is pretty tight but have gotten used to it now so not really a problem, and I think my pedals are all the same height!
The site has settled down for me now and is running very well, there were problems when the site...
Excellent reply mate, a LOT of members on here would get pretty assy with everyone telling them that they'd crash it or were crazy for paying a lot on insurance.
18 years old, with a Cup, however, means you are a b*****d! :D
I personally think it looks a bit nicer than the 182, etc but it's not as quick. I also read the Evo issue about preferring the drivability of the ZS, due to details such as 17's, which look great but seriously affect performance.
Spending the money saved on engine mods however, would be...
That's what concerns me a bit, as I remember what I used to consider safe overtaking I would never attempt now, even with a significantly faster car!
It may honestly be safe overtaking, but with lots of it, all it takes is misjudging the space / speed required once...
Not trying to preach or...
Cables do make a difference when you get into higher-end audio.
Running my PC sound through an amp and speakers, I find it distinctly average, possible due to the phono cable I use being pretty thin and flimsy. I have to turn the amp volume up a long way to get decent noise. When I then put my...
 They've been very good for me every time I've visited a branch.
I'm assuming that if all you want is an amp and speakers, that you already have an output for your sound?
Also, always allow a bit of your budget for decent cables/wiring.
Clay is meant to be used on relatively new bugs / crap that aren't removed through washing. Really old cars will have had the bits of gunk there so long that they'll be fused into the paintwork. Well, at least that's what I found on my Fiesta.
If there's any really stubborn bits of bird poo on...
As said above, there is never a 'good' wet road to test the performance of the car... it's just not worth risking it IMHO.
Have fun though and please, please, please don't act like the majority of 17/18 year old drivers with relatively quick/modded cars... :)
I think the point is that research has shown 172 Cup's are the ones most often crashed, and the restricted age is just a fact of insurance, especially with performance cars.
The minute they start making exceptions for particular people with particular circumstances, it just opens a minefield...
Insurance companies treat conversions differently, so it's worth calling around, but it is likely that they'll insure the car in the same light as whatever car the engine is from, so probably a 172, but perhaps more due to the fact that it's a conversion.
Mine excess is £300 which pretty much the same as anywhere else so not too bad...
Which has just reminded me, gotta find out what the excess is with my current NU policy on Windscreen insurance...
Not needing to renew until April but I've been given a quote of £720, which is a lot cheaper than my current policy. Looks like I'll be giving them a call when it comes to proper renewal!
Pretty sure that different companies recommend different ways depending on the nature of their particular wax, but normally it's fine to do the whole car at once, but I'd recommend then taking it off in the same order!
Even if they've charged you £200 too much, it still doesn't seem they've done what they said they would do.
It's no use some jumped up salesman saying "yeah, I'll give you Megane power" if it's only going to increase by 10-odd bhp. That's not what you were sold.
Worth getting it rolling...
Yeah, as above, it isn't a sales advisor's place to state what he can or can't believe you are doing. You are not withholding payment purely because there's no tax disc, as I'm sure if you could guarantee you could pop to the post office and get tax then you would. It's the fact that there's no...
I'm not sure how new car deals all work, but I certainly wouldn't part with my money until I received the documentation and at least some assurance that tax and insurance is all ok. I'm sure they're fine but surely they can't expect customers to pay for a car that's missing essential items.
Hmm, you blaming your bad parking on needing to use a toilet by any chance!?! :clown:
I mean, surely it would have been quicker to drive straight into a space rather than stop, reverse it back, and then run into McD's holding onto your old boy... ;)
EDIT: Just read the previous post about...
