My Mk1 172 has had this done, although the pipes end up at the same place as the 182, and the spare wheel is still intact. It's do-able but it's looks like a tricky bit of work.
It admittedly isn't to my style, but then what has been done has been done well, so fair play to you.
Like it or not, there is a certain amount of snobbery on this site... *retrieves flameproof undercacks as a precaution*
You know what I think of this car matey, just a bit of a shame that I couldn't pay that bit extra and you couldn't come down a bit more.
I'm loving the 172 I've bought, but those mods are bound to happen to mine at some point... just looks so good!
End of the day, who gives a sh!t if people call their 'Mk2 Phase 1" 172 a Mk1 172? They've bought the car because they enjoy driving and are most probably enthusiasts of the Renaultsport brand....
I personally consider myself to drive a Mk1 172, whether this is right or wrong I don't care...
I've gone from a 1.6 Fiesta (similar spec to VTR) and I've certainly noticed the difference, so you should be fine. :) As well as being quicker, everything's also just a lot more fun.
I'd imagine that with all the different silvers that exist, they'll probably still be a different shade. Let us know how you get on, am entertaining this idea myself at the moment...
AFAIK it should be a flashing red LED by the gear stick. Alternatively, get someone to sit in the car, lock it and get them to move around. If it's alarmed then it'll go off, if not, then no alarm. :(
Stunning, ride height and wheel combo looks perfect, As said above, not sure on the silver intake, think black might look a bit better. But overall very nice. :D
Yeah, the guy fitted the IK before me, so I haven't changed anything, but it does look a bit odd with just one air feed I think.
As for the 182 bumper, it's exactly as I bought it and, whilst I am planning to change the wheels in due course, I'm not going to start swapping and changing bumper...
I'll try and get a photo of it mate, it's all where the standard exhaust comes through on the right hand side, and then the pipe breaks into two to form the two rear pipes. It's quite a cool design so is easier if I show you... will try to get some of it on the weekend.
Just the red anodised (sp?) 'trumpet' (if that's what you mean by the trumpet.... not sure if you're referring to anything else) mate, with the air feed to the induction kit mate, no mesh or anything.
The driver's side is just a dummy one with a bit of pipe leading to nothing (I think!)...
Seems to be a pretty nice divide between liking and disliking the 182 bumper, which I cna live with. As I said, I didn't fit it myself, but I do like the fact that it's something 'different' but effective in a world of cloned 172's.
Personally, I love the red air feeds though!
Some clear...
Lol, my avatar is a bit of a long story, but it basically says "acrebo... the mighty gecko"... and a picture of a gecko. :o *tumbleweed rolls by*
I've not done anything to the car, so I bought it as you see it. I have the original bumper and exhaust so in time I may decide to go completely...
Cheers guys, the only annoying thing with the exhaust is that it managed to burn a small hole in the bumper when it was first settling!
Doubt anything will be happening before Xmas yet, but initial plans are Phase 2 rear lights (shock!), silvervisions for the indicators, clear side repeaters...
There was this same question a little while ago but I can't find it by searching...
Are there any companies that specialise in just insuring a car for one day?
Nice wheels and suit it well also. Different but the multi-spoke design works really well. Tempted to get something like these for my Ph1 172 at some point but still undecided...
I found this the first few times I filled up my 172. One time it only put about a tenner in and stopped. I wiggled the nozzle around and it dropped straight in and filled up.
Give it a wiggle!
From what I understand, a lot of initial V6 owners found them too difficult to handle and bought and sold them in pretty quick succession. Add to this that they probably part-x'd with a prestige car dealer, and you have 2 owners or keepers straight away.
If it was a more 'normal' car I'd be a...
