Get a room boys...
Not sure about the wheels, certainly not in white, but anthracite could look cool. Youre better off getting a set of Cossie rims. ;)
I think if you have the clutch completely depressed, such as when coasting up to a junction or a turning, that its not really riding the clutch, because it wont wear it out as its all the way in. AFAIK its when you hold it half and half with the throttle that will make it wear away... I think!
Have to admit Im not a big fan, looks a bit tacky if Im totally honest. Id strip it of all the mods, keep the wheels and stick on some coilovers. The colour could look really effective.
As above, I wouldnt get them to wash it because theyll only stick a dirty sponge and pressure washer over it.
I wouldnt worry about compensation mate, just tell them that you want these things put right free of charge or youll be going to their senior manager...
And try to be polite while...
I would personally go for the V6, just because I consider it to be a more desirable car. If one of each were parked up side by side, theyd both get looks, but I would imagine that the Clio would get more and I think that the Max Power generation would pay more attention to the Bishi.
Chavs...
Another satisfied test driver! The general consensus seems to be that if you end up test driving in bust traffic you end up disapointed, but if you get a decent bit of road with some windys that you cant get the smile off of your face.
So did you manage to avoid all the hard-sale tactics...
Mine was up for a laugh too, told me what route to drive to make sure I got some time on a dual carriageway and also some windys. Was driving all sensible and the he told me to stick it in 3rd and floor it....
Very quick but hopefully gives you an idea...

Oops, bit off the pace!

Cheers for all the replies guys, I think the 172 is looking like the best option, but I may try to raise a bit more cash and get a realy good example...
I got the email from Renault, so I just went to their website via the link, obviously chose the right dealer and car I wanted to drive (even...
I test drove a 182 yesterday (cant beat those free M&S vouchers!) and I have admittedly fallen in love. The 5k kick just put a smile on my face that I couldnt remove!
However, the salesman was saying that the only 182s they have left are those with Cup packs and about 150 Trophys, so it...
Basically Ive had my heart set on a Phase 1 172 for a while, and will be getting a loan in October which will then mean I can afford to buy one.
But... Im just wondering whether it would be a wiser decision to get a new 182 on finance, end up paying approximately the same monthly payments and...
Yeah, say youve got the cash waiting and if its what youre looking for then youll take it there and then. The sellers playing a dangerous game trying to delay you viewing it...
Im a Phase 1 fan all the way, although I would prefer to stay away from the silver that 9 out of every 10 Phase 1 172s seems to have been made in.
I actually like the cute look that the front displays, with the rounded lights and smooth bumper, although Im not a huge fan of the side-on stance...
Often drive to Dundee in my bare feet....
I dont really know many decent driving roads, which is my fault really as theres loads in Mid Devon. I just tend to bottle my frustrations up until I pretty much break down. At the moment, I want a new car, a new job and a new place to live.....
I just posted a message, simply giving my opinion that this site has lost its edge a bit, in a hope that I would be given some reassurance that it is still as good as ever... and it was deleted! Charming....
If you want a reliable, solidly built car and are not too worried about speed, then Id recommend a nice VW Polo. IMO theyre really nice looking cars, nothing too flash but wont go wrong. They hold their value REALLY well too so youd probably get back almost what youd apid for it a year or so later.
106 GTi for me, although I am also tempted by the GTi-6. Rarer than the rest and you find that they will have covered a lot of their miles on motorways.
Im a small car person though so 106 GTi. Ill be getting mine in June!
^ Pretty good point here.
<RANT>
Although it seems whenever people try to have a bit of harmless fun and a laugh, someone complains that its not a serious thread and should be deleted. Why?
I can understand the point of deleting threads about racing, but who cares if some of these...
I am too mate, I had a 106 XSi for a while and absolutely loved it, rattles and all! Am now looking to get a GTi in the summer. Dont know what it is but the GTi is just so much more desirable than the VTS.
But..... I dont think the VTS is a chavs car unless it has been modified. I think these...
Maybe, but then what is the group of the VTS?
I honestly dont know what it is, but Id imagine that it is fairly similar, maybe a group or two less. Just been anwered above! So, if taking insurance into comparison, it becomes a negligable factor. If chavs can afford insurance on a VTS, then...
Interesting thread this one.
Again people are making the mistake of comparing new against old...
172/182s are not YET chavvy because aforementioned chavs cannot yet afford to buy them and afford insuance. The fact that Renault have priced them so cheaply compared to the competition (how...
If youre letting off and braking when in a corner, then are you entirely sure you know the difference between dying and driving fast!?!
Slowing down half way through a corner and then accelerating again is THE way to make your arse go sideways. Ease off before the corner and then throttle it...
Went to the Exeter showroom last week and theyve got a lovely red one sat there, all unlocked. Must have been in it for ages, just looking at the engine cover before the salesmen seemed to get rather annoyed!
