I personally wouldn't touch Adrian Flux with a bargepole, regardless of saving. IMO they prey on young modified car drivers looking for cheap insurance and bombard them with forms and information. Any one detail that is incorrectly filled out (which with the amount of forms they send, is likely...
Black wheels always look awesome on yellow cars, especially if the black theme is repeated throughout the car also. That photoshop indicates that it's going to look lovely!
Weeks ago there were only about 150 trophy's left so I don't think there's any real rush, although there will obviously be a point at which someone gets the last one!
But surely it's not the end of Renaultsport Clio... just a wait until the new shape 192/202 or whatever gets released...
Yeah it's miles better than my old Fiesta's gearbox, but I find that they don't naturally slip into one-another. It seems that 3rd is slightly to the right of 4th, so I have manageed to crunch the gearbox when changing down just the once!
Looks nice, although I'm also not too sure on the wheels, could be just because they're different though...
I think I'll have to invest in a set of Ph2 rear lights for my Ph1 as well, certainly sets off the rear end nicely. Although with my 182 bumper, people might get confused!
I have...
Just a little post to say I floored my new (well, old) Mk1 172 for the first time tonight. Was on a small dual laner, kept it in 2nd and put my foot down, felt the surge not so much at 5k revs, but a little bit past... the sound, OMG!
That induction roar along with the custom exhaust so sounds...
Hey hey Davey-boy, you seem to turn up at every car forum I join!
Got myself a 172 instead of the 106 GTi in the end, loving every minute so far!
Good choice on the 182, most fun out of the 3 by a long way... :)
With such low mileage I'd say you can get more mate, although it obviously depends how the engine is running and the condition of the bodywork and interior.
If you're considering selling, I'd politely refuse and stick it on Autotrader for £5700/5800, and probably get £5500...
Always the best way to get someone driving properly. I had a bad crash about a year into my driving life and it's totally changed the way I drive. If anything I'm a bit over cautious but I'd rather be that way than dangerous.
Unlucky though mate, get something cheap and cheerful for the next...
Cheers for the comments guys, I'm certainly very pleased with it and am starting to get used to the throttle compared to my Fiesta!
My bank account has taken a serious beating now this month so even the slightest mod will have to wait for a month or so, but I'm sure some ph 2 lights and colour...
Yeah it's green actually... my mistake!
I've tried it with the ignition / HU on and also off. I'm guessing that there's a connection loose or something as the guy fitted it back into his car just before I bought it off him, and I don't know if he tested it.
I'll have to unscrew it and take...
Hmm, I'll have to check all the wiring when it's light and I have a bit of time to spare. Glad I'm not completely stupid though! I assumed it was the orange button which did the business... should the cartridge just slide out towards me?
Cheers for the guide, will have a look at sorting them when I have some more funds!
As for the bumper, it does look a different shade in the photos, but in the flesh it is the same colour. At least, if it's a different shade then it' not noticble.
I'll sort the colour coding as well, I don't...
Yes you spy correctly, one cold air feed for the Viper kit and a dummy air feed just to even up proceedings. :)
I'm planning on Phase 2 rears, whereabouts is the guide to re-wiring them?
This is a really basic question, but I only tried once this evening and the book is in the car still, so thought I'd just get a quick answer on here!
How do you get the CD Changer cartridge out of the changer in the Phase 1 172? I've slid the 'door' back and tried pressing the orange button...
Bought my 172 today, not driven it too much but certainly getting used to the serious fun factor! :D
Findind the accelerator pedal a little hard to work with compared to my Fiesta, I seem to either stand still or rev the t!ts off of it! Getting better though!
Pics don't do it justice, the...
I would say never go TPFT on a car worth a serious amout of cash! I personally couldn't bring myself to pay anything more than about a grand on insurance, but you're only young once so just go ahead and enjoy it!
But, seriously, I would stick with Fully Comp on a 5 grand car! I was gutted when...
If you're into rock then you probably want a decent 10" sub mate, much punchier bass, which will pick up the strong rhythm better than the 12", which is a more 'boomier' bass that will drone on...
A decent sub of any size will manage all bass levels well though. :)
Maybe take it back to the same garage and explain what the problem is and see if they can sort it, obviously with no extra charge to you. I'm sure someone on here will have an idea what's wrong and how much you should be looking at. :)
