Stainless will rust, but how bad depends on the quality of the steal. How often you drive, if the car sits alot for long periods? Doesn't help with all the salt that's been spread recently. You had it a while?
Bit of a waste of weight really, but if it prevents fires then can't hurt to keep it. They could have probably made it a bit smaller and easy to undo though :S
Was just going to say the exact same thing. Strange colour sometimes. Saying that, it might not be a perfect RB match. Looks strange though I'll give you that.
It would, but engines are generally ok if the get wet. Lotus have their engines exposed. Not really much point doing it though. Cheaper to run cold air feeds into the bay
You sure about that? If that's the case then my 182 has always done it. never had any issues and no leaks either. A few track days probably didnt do it much good though ;)
if it's going to birchdown I'm sure Steve will be able to advise. Maybe they don't like being overfilled. Should only be the middle of the dipstick really. If you add the 5.1L anyway
lol. Didn't want to have to tell you ;)
Sounds like a strange on then. Not leaking from the filter? If it was coming from the cam cover you would be able to see oil in the bay. 1 litre though and you'd definately notice it. Remove the undertray and see if there is any major deposits on that...
