yeah on the w reg 172 they had an ali bonnet on it, so presumably renault will have a part number for it. Why not get a fibre glass one, or carbon fibre
Hi guys, just taken off the rear dampers to ckeck them, here is what if found?

They look ok, no leaks, but one of them is very loose when pushed right in (shown on the vid and it makes a noise). both felt the same to push down, and both recoil the...
Whats the difference in the rear suspension set ups? When i've driven the 197 it feels so much more stable. Is the rear axle completely different? or is it independant?
I might just take them both off and see. Probably give a better comparison. Will give it a go this weekend. Although if they are both gone i've no comparison lol
Does it sound like a metal sort of tapping noise? a bit like morse code when you get to near red line? Mine does this on occassion, no idea what it is.
take it to a renault specialist, better service at lower cost. No offence to the steelers :) Sounds like its belt related. does it do it would of gear when reved, or is it just when the gears are engaged?
do a search on here mate, there are a few threads on it. Its under the plastic panel at the top of the bonnet infront of the driver. They are quite expensive from renault, but scrappy could be an option.

Doubt it would be the coils? usually they cause the engine to sound s**t, lose power, but not really jerky. Unless its on its way out and not already fooked.
had it done it since though? You can get the radio removal tools from halfords i think, but like said, use small screwdriver or similar, push in as far at it goes (2 on each side) then pull out. If you only have 2 then do one side first, pull out slightly then do the other.
