Rob, Mk1 was made 96 - 98 - they are all R reg, none were S.. the Mk2 came in then..
Dunno if it can be done.. I know my 195/50/15s on a -35mm drop at the back needed some arch work.. but then, some people have 17s on the RT.. I guess it depends on offset of the alloy - Im guessing tho you...
Theres the arch lip.. then inside, on the inner arch skin, theres like a square big fat thing sticking out.. thats where mine caught anyway. Might be ok now Ive given it some Dremel..
Well every Clio is different then, because on the inner arch.. theres a lip.. just a metal bit which sticks out.. and it catches on bumps mainly when there is weight in the back.
I know someone else whos had this, so the only explaination is, the 3 door inner arch doesnt have the lip.. cus its...
Youll need arch work, and if you dont... every car is different.
I dont care what anyone says, -35mm with Valver wheels and 195/50/15 tyres.. you need arch work, theres a lip inside in the arch which it catches.
It must be the way it aims.. and doesnt just send out light!
Didnt do to bad tho, since Wednesday - done quite a few short journeys, and one semi-ish long.. so battery wouldnt have ever gotten fully charged!
So I go out to my car, to move it so I can wash it.. and, it disarms, then the central locking decides to make a noise about a second later and open. Odd I thought.

I got a new one.. £104 from Renault, £20 rebate when I took my old one back..
I changed it myself - on the front of the engine.. very easy to change. (1.2 DIET Engine)
How is it "safe" and "Supposed to be that way" that you can slow your car down, quickly on the brakes, without warning people behind?
Yaknow this "Show people behind the brake lights but not brake!".. Do Renault just think this isnt needed? Heh.
Mine made an awful noise and wouldnt start sometimes - went on for ages.. was the starter motor!
It was turning at an angle, so sometimes, when it was jammed in, it took MEGA power to spin.. the battery couldnt do it.
Best thing ever changing that starter.. (but I was 99% sure that was it!)..
