Hammerite do paint designed for brakes. Paint it matt black with that, and I'm sure it would help.
I really like the noise of that system. Quiet on idle and around town, but noticable when on full chat!

You really need someone with experience/one of the specialists to have a look, as it's a multitude of things that it could be.
I really would recommend the drive to JMS, and by the sounds of it, as long as you take it easy the car should be fine.

Standard Renault with these pads are fine.
I'd go as far as saying good enough for road use. Even with some abuse.
A few I know run this set-up on track and have no issues.

Be very, VERY careful who you give it to.
Anyone who's not got the correct cam locking tools and the utmost know-how to do the job will almost certainly c**k it up. Then, you're at best looking at a car down on power, at worst, you're looking at a costly bill to rebuild/replace.
