Im in Staffordshire Jay. I could maybe meet you at a half way point sometime?
I can only assume the people who call it quiet own K-Tec systems as all of theres are loud!
From your previous posts I think the sound of the Magnex is probably what you are after.
Have you hear the sound...
I quite like them. Not so sure about against red though. Good choice of wheel, my current fave still! I did something similar a while back to see how they would look against blue.

I usually just give mine a wash with Zymol each weekend and dry it off with a good leather. If Im feeling in the mood I wax it with Zymol, then once its done I put a fine mist of water over the car and buff it off with a Microfibre cloth. That seems to do the trick and gives a nice deep wet...
I always put a full tank of Optimax in. I cant remember how much it is per litre (84.9p per litre possibly), but based on having around 10 litres left in the tank, it costs me around £32.00 - £34.00 per week.
They are amazingly economical cars really. I tend to see around 260 miles on a full tank before I fill up. Thats mainly commuting in heavy traffic with a good thrash at every given opportunity. With motorway driving I tend to see at least 300. By this time the needle is just above red, but...
Hard to tell. I gave it a good thashing on the way to work and it pulled as hard as it ever has done. Certainly felt a little better than with the OE filter in. The roads are greasy so it was hard to tell from a standing start, but at high revs it feels a little more eagar to go. I found...
I took mine out for a spin last night after putting a new air filter in. I switched off the climate and radio for the first time and noticed mine does the same thing.
You could try what I did Tony. Call a branch of Kwik Fit and get a price, then call another and get them to beat it. Keep doing this until you have them down to something sensible. :D
The first price I got was £86.00 per tyre.
As far as I know the only car to have lighter glass is the Cup. The rest have the same glass, the only difference being the fancy anti glare coating which the 172 and a few of the others have.
Ill be the first to appologise to chas.
PM me if you have any questions about buying from Motorpoint. May be slow to reply though today as Im in and out of the office.
Motorpoint will fit an alarm for you which brings it up to Thatcham cat 1. I have a Sigma M34, theyll either fit that or the M32.
Its actually better than the Renault one as I can program more security features from the keypad.
Only you can decide that. Get a test drive in one of each and see which you prefer.
A lot of us on here have 172s from Motorpoint or Trade Sales, all of which are imports. As long as you know what you are doing there arent any problems at all. Mine goes to my local dealer for all work and...
Did they sort the banging? Which of the many different ones was it? Strut top mounts, battery holder, engine mounts? So far Ive driven 4 172/Cups and Ive made every single one of them knock under cornering. Renault have given up on mine!!
To be honest Im sure it could be a little closer to the bumper, but it does get very hot so its probably best it isnt!! The problem is it cant sit too close as the the exits are a little on the large side. 3" would have been prefered but Magnex didnt do one. When the car is wet, there is a...
Just like mine :D

I didnt go for the K-Tec because Ive seen too many wobble, and rust. Roamers is practically falling off the car at the moment, in bits!!!
The Magnex is far from silent, but is no where near as loud as even the...
I went for a quick blast around the block, but to be honest I cant tell any difference. When I swapped the OE filter for the pipercross I noticed an increase in boomines (is that a word?) at mid to high revs. Since then Ive had a Magnex Cat back system put on so thats not noticable!!
Im...
ITG filter has arrived and has been fitted. It seems much better quality than the Pipercross. The top of the filter has a metal mesh not plastic and it comes in a sealed bag, pre oiled unlike the Pipercross.
Its no where near as deep either, and is roughly a third the depth of the OE one...
Ive said it before and Ill say it again, Renault recommend you run on 98RON so why use anything less. As Optimax is the only 98RON fuel over here its the only petrol to use.
Ive had my car since March 2003 and its only hever had 3 tanks of fuel which werent Optimax.
Amazing, Ive just phoned the old dear to see if its arrived. The phone rang out for a while as she was at the front door being given the parcel.
Ill let you know what its like when I fit it this evening.
