I have to admit to having similar thoughts myself, but couldnt do it having seen how much better the Mk2 V6 looks. Id always want one of those instead.
I was quoted £170, but as they didnt do the air filter due to me having a Pipercross it only cost me £130.
I called a few dearlers for prices, and £165-£170 is the norm. Except Renault Birmingham who wanted over 200 notes!! :o
A cat back system is everything from the original cat to the back. The K-Tec sports cat replaces the existing cat and is supposed to give a bhp increase of around 7bhp.
I drove someone elses 172 most the weekend and that felt totally different to mine in some ways. Its Renault and there inconsistent build that makes them feel so different.
I also drove y0z2as Cup a fair bit (100 miles or so) a few weeks ago and cant see what Cup owners are going on about...
To be honest mate I just followed what it said on the back if the bottle. I got two nice new dusters. Applied it to small areas with one, let it dry, then buffed it off with the other. Once Id waxed the entire car I misted it with water and buffed it off with a microfibre cloth. I only do...
I spoke to a guy named Stewart at Demon Tweeks. He said that the catalogue didnt she it fitted an 03 Clio but went off to check with the fitting guys. They confirmed it did, its just the paperwork thats not up to date. If they say the same just point out that they have fitted more than one...
Cheers mate, shame its not looking like that now. 4 days of driving into Birmingham and it looks like Ive done a rally again!
I dont really do anything too special to mine. I know some people take this cleaning stuff really seriously.
That was just after a good wash with Zymol shampoo...
Thanks mate. I went to Demon Tweeks for mine. You get an unlimited warrenty if put on by a registered fitter. You just have to go back once every 12 months for a check up.
If you join the club youll get a 10% discount off it too.
Heres some pictures of a Magnex on my 03 172. Theres also a small movie so you can here how it sounds when revved not under load.

Ive just paid, £130 for my 12k service. It should have been £175.00 but I didnt have the air filter done, due to having a Pipercross fitted.
Id call them back and double check they have the right car.
Im pleased to see Im not the only one whos racked up 12k on an 03 172.
This has been mentioned before. Foot to the floor doesnt seem the best method at high speeds. I cant remember the reason behind it, something to do with getting air into the engine I think?
Ill await the correct answer too? :D
If you totally removed the head unit, did you reconnect the red and yellow wires the correct way round? They can be reversed to be red to red and yellow to yellow or red to yellow and yellow to red!!! If that makes sense. Could be that. That dictates how its powered.
Its worth checking...
The joys of Renault.
Now the big question is, can you wait for the correct car, or are you going to beat a discount out of them and stick with the wrong one?
