Its already run in. Ive done about 1600 miles now. I kept below 3.5k for the first 625 miles. Then started to up it a little until I hit 1000 miles where I let all hell break loose :) I did a couple of airport runs for a friend which soon pushed the miles up.

I had a quick dig last night to see when mine came on. As its not the most obvious light on the world, and I was watching the road I think it was around 6750 ish.

I was quoted 12.2k by a Renault dealer. All in on the road. So expect to pay around 12k for a new one Id guess. There are a few nearly new ones knocking around now too.

Nice one Desmondo, that exact same thought crossed my mind, as did mats suggestion. I was wondering if when it has its first service I could just send a copy of that stamp. After all, they only ask for a stamp to prove its been serviced within the Renault dealer network.

Thanks _KDF. I went to get a silver one, then the sales guy said they had a blue one knocking about somewhere. I saw it and brought it. When its clean and the sun is on it its a really nice colour. But then they dont do a bad coloured 172. Give me an hour and Ill pull it out into the sun...

Mine has the chassis number stamp on the back, just not the dealer stamp. One day of seat rattle left.

Thanks Viv, Two years is better than nothing I suppose, at least Motorpoint didnt sucker me into buying a crappy warranty from them. They keep it very quiete that EU cars have some from the manufucturer. I can live with the broken temperature guage, almost, but the seat rattle is killing...

I had a Sigma M34 added to the existing Renault Immobilisor.

I took a couple of mates to and from Heathrow just to pile the miles on. Done almost 1500 since picking it up at the start of this month. Its just getting better and better. Enjoy the new car. :)

I thought exactly the same earlier. Sometimes you can plant it on the motorway and not a lot happens, other times a gentle press of the pedal and its off like a shot. Ive just driven from the Midlands to Heathrow and back. Its fantastic on the motorway. Easily capable of the manufactures...

Does anyone know what the E.S.P. actually does on a 172? On my previous car it would cull the power if the front wheels lost traction, and brake the inside rear while reducing power if the car was into a slide. Most the time it was fine for daily driving, but if I wanted a bit of lift off fun...
