Yep same as! I used to have a 172 Cup, but have now moved onto a black gold 182 also (best colour ;) ) You wont have any worries. Golden rule is to get the AUX belt changed @ the 32k service. Its not on the renault service book..... but get it done as some have been known to fail and take out...

Kevin!!!! Check door seals etc. Not had an aftermarket sub fitted with cables ratted through the baulkhead has it? Check all grommets in the bulkhead (the bit that seperates the passenger compartment from the engine) Take it from there :)

They are nice. I had a go in a standard 197 and was impressed :) Have you had or driven a 172/182 before?

I rate auto glym Paint Renovator. Give the area a good going over with this.....(be carefull as its quite agressive) then use some Super Resin Polish to finish...... will give a good result. If your applying by hand its a hard combo to beat :) My Black gold 182 is having a few panels a week done...

Yeah exhaust filter and suspension etc is fine Body kits are a BIG no no imo ;) The 172 is a good b road basher out the box, its what it was made for :)

LOL! Yeah good motors the VTS, mate had one cammed up, was a right tool! Kept blowing boxes though.

keep up...... My previous 172 cup was fine. Had a hard 40k with me, now on 73k with a mate, strong as an ox!!!!! Nothing but service items.

Much more solid :) My gf has a saxo vtr and feels light weight inside. Glad you enjoy mate :)

How can a car be less user friendly? :S Its no kit car.......

You wont generate a lot of bass with the standard size speakers as they are too small. I upgraded mine for infinity units which are better but still not enough :(

gdi make one. Tbh its all about what you want. A standard renault exhaust cat back will cost you around £320 But that will fit and not be loud/boomy. The ktech one as said fits superbly, but from my experience is very raspy in its note. (i took it off) You could even get a custom one made but...

You will need it cat back as the pipe work is bigger from the back of the cat on the stealth, a back box alone wont fit the centre section pipe. I found the fit perfect on mine, very adjustable!...... but the noise is an acquired (sp) taste.... very raspy! Not boomy mind.

Yeah its ok. I've used it on may cars in the past and its fine! Good stuff :)

Its been on the forecourt a minimum of 4 yrs.......... it was there before i got my cup. Its also cambelt time too!!! Over 5yrs old. Donr 40k. Its a nice car mind, in good nick. It used to be 8k :eek:

Its not that bad to be fair...... Compared to the black 182 (standard), its taller, but you don't really notice when in the car. Inside thay are just right imo, there is actually space in the rear now. In my 182 the front seats are pretty much jammed to the rears. A 20mm drop would be just...

A few pics.... My new 182 on the left, standard at the mo, mods to come ;).... my old Cup on the right (now steves SBV116) ;) 197 looks mint in the flesh, much wider stance than the 172's as seen above. Also loved the seating posision and seats. Good effort Renault :)

Agree!! All you 197 haters are wrong. I loved it, brakes are awsome..... feels nice and refined to me, and has a nice 'note' to it whilst giving it some! Steering as some have said feels abit 'floaty', but the car feels nice and planted. Also as said the car is geared way too short, it could do...

we'll see..... we have a Cup and a 182 to compare the 197 against ;)

we'll find out tommorow the differences ;)

The truth! As Brian said its the scatter...... the standard twin optics are superior in their beam pattern on dipped beam.
