Careful buying valver engines. They've done a lot of miles by now. Alot of them would benifit massively from a good head rebuild. The advantage is that new blocks/heads are cheap as chips as long as you don't want williams components.
valver is the same track as williams iirc (with the exception of wider wheel ofset)
With the full loom and ecu etc, it's a straight forward conversion really. Best of luck mate.
Little more info Please :)
Is that a MK1 polo with an audi 80 front end or something?
Is the engine original? and are those REALLY cool cooling fins standard kit?
Re: Renault 5 F2000 Tarmac Rally / Sprint Car - Clio Williams conversion & overhaul
nice! :) Complete F7Rs must be worth nearly £500 odd quick these days? They are getting a lot rarer.
yes change it yourself. Buy some good oil and a filter (contact opie oils) and a sump plug key for a renault from any motor factors. Then all you need is a funnel.
It's as simple as:
drain the from the sump plug
Remove and chuck the oil filter (front of engine block)
Refit new oil filter wish...
as long as you buy hubcentrics then the spacer grips the centre-bore and the wheel grips the bore on the spacer so it's all fine. Some use long wheel studs some use another set of studs to bolt the spacer to the hub before fitting the wheel
Looking at it from a mechanical point of view, I would...
yes
I do. It's a 172Ph2 and they scrub just a tiny bit at the back if you corner hard with someone in the back.
Non-RS Ph1 scrub on 195s so think about spacers
Re: Renault 5 F2000 Tarmac Rally / Sprint Car - Clio Williams conversion & overhaul
nice bit of smeg in the oil cap there.
This williams engine is a little overdue ;)
Fapping over the hand brake tbqfh
the first one looks similar to my 172Ph2 one, couldnt tell you if the dimensions were correct tho
Isnt the phase one dogbone differernt though?
get under your car and have a look to make sure
the thing you have labeled in that diagram is an engine support (we call it a 'dog-bone' mount)
If it becomes worn, and it often does, you will notice a lot of engine movement which will move the gearstick a lot as you come on and off the throttle.
You need either a new mount - or order a...
it's an ECU error. Means there is something not working as it should on the car.
Typically means you need a new sensor (ie lambda) or the coil pack is on it's way out or something like that.
Best thing to do is get it plugged in somewhere and ask them what the error code is. you can also buy...
