they need a 2.0 turbo (200bhp+) to give it back some credibility. Didn't like the MkIII and i'm not impressed with the Ph2 either. It'd be the easiest and cheapest bit of development they've ever done. They've got good turbo experience and plenty of 2.0 blocks (not to mention the meg block)

2 posibilities IMO Probably a bad cambelt job - if the timing is even slightly out then it's going to be down on power big time. You need the right tools and knowledge to do it properly. Take it to GDi or similar and ask them to have a quick look. Could be damage left over from the broken cam...
