The reason it needs to be a FF and not a cup is the cup one is not as meaty. The normal 172 (FF) has all the same acessories as the 182 whereas the 172cup doesent.

they need a 2.0 turbo (200bhp+) to give it back some credibility. Didn't like the MkIII and i'm not impressed with the Ph2 either.
It'd be the easiest and cheapest bit of development they've ever done. They've got good turbo experience and plenty of 2.0 blocks (not to mention the meg block)
I've heard that if you are skilled you can spray a light layer of paint (or tinted laquer as said) onto CF and you are still able to see the weave through. werent F40s done like this???

Probably a bad cambelt job - if the timing is even slightly out then it's going to be down on power big time. You need the right tools and knowledge to do it properly. Take it to GDi or similar and ask them to have a quick look.

Changing 172 decats is always a bit of a b!tch cause the manifold is shorter. The subframe gets right in the way. If he's got a ramp, why not consider a 182 manifold to make things easier come MOT time? I did
