I see your a member, here's my guide
I'm not quite sure how much you understand about this so please excuse me if I'm patronising at any point.
The 182 manifold is a 4-2-1, the 172 manifold is a 4-1. The 172 manifold is considerably shorter so the downpipe (with cat in it) is much longer. The...
afaik they havent been run on a MK2 yet. "coops" is the owner of a particularly sweet valver turbo, and he's on CS, williamsclio.co.uk and clio16valver.net
I've only seen the MK2PH2 setup, wasnt aware the MK2PH1 dogbone setup was different:cool: The thing that makes the MK1s stronger is the...
It's not worth doing if you can't do it yourself. I've done a guide and although it takes a while it's quite straight forward. I chopped up my 172 cat pipe and re-welded the flanges on to make a shorter cat for MOT times. With the 182 manifold in there, it's dead easy to swap the decat>cat.
As...
Re: Valver Track Car Project Thread
spot on whiteley, just the driveshafts now then?
As i understand it renault have redesigned the 1*2 shafts with better circlips on the CVs. They are supposed to be quite reasonable too. Might be worth a call.
Is that a PTFE gasket i see? do you rate them?
Nice car, nice coilovers - are they competitively priced if you don't mind me asking?
Last but not least - induction setup! You know you can do better ;)
On a 182, yes definitely get one. You'll notice it, if only slightly.
on a 172, get one, but beware they are a cnut to fit every MOT time without a 182 manifold. Expect to bleed.
I bet it's the Cam timing. If it's even slightly out then you get massive loss in power. I'd take it to someone like GDI and have them take a look at it.
If you suspect it's fuelling badly, then it could be the lambda, but that doesent normally affect WOT performance too much.
afore mentioned solid MK1 dogbone mount is known as a "coops" dogbone iirc. Give him a PM about them.
If I were fitting a solid dogbone to a MK2, i'd be worried about the bolt hole where it connects into the gearbox. People have had problems with the poly-bushed dogbones striping threads out...
matched inlets are best best bang for buck on a 1*2 IMO. But the 182 manifold has advantages also. I'm pleased with mine, but I think it could well be the decat that's given most of the gains.
All cars have wheel bearings. The clio bearings and discs are pressed together. It's not possible to press bearings at home, you need a large press.
If you get discs without bearings, then you need to have your current bearings pressed into them.
If your looking after the car, get a set of...
centre cap off. Massive breaker bar. It's a 30 or a 31mm socket iirc. Make sure you do it on the ground with the wheel on as you need to supply a lot of torque. Hayes manual says it's important that you don't use the footbrake to try and hold the wheel iirc and defo don't put it in gear. You can...
Re: Renault 5 F2000 Tarmac Rally / Sprint Car - Clio Williams conversion & overhaul
http://www.webcon.co.uk/alpha/alphaplus_engine_managment.htm
odd. They seem to have made a simple standalone mangement system and used the renault loom plug on it....
How you planning on mapping it to the F7R...
Re: Renault 5 F2000 Tarmac Rally / Sprint Car - Clio Williams conversion & overhaul
Plug n play! lovely.
What power did the kit make on the last engine it was fitted too?
What's the deal with that ECU? Is it a proper fully mappable standalone jobbie? or just a modified renault Siemens unit?
Glanzas are not cheap motoring for what they are. The cars are still about £3.5 4k to buy. but they are certinally fast and fun and relatively cheap to tune. I have a mate with a glanza and it's absolutely on rails. There are loads of little parts available for the suspension to tweak it just...
You defo need the special software. I used to use iTunes music liberator, but that doesent seem to work with the latest gen iPods/phones.
iTunes don't like you doing it because it makes it possible for you to upload your music to someone elses computer=copyright etc etc
Re: Valver Track Car Project Thread
It's known as a 'Coops' solid dogbone. There is a guy called 'Coops' on all 3 clio forums (CS, williamsclio, clio16valver) iirc who will supply you one
Re: Mk1 Hybrid Project
are the catches going to be the only thing holding the bonnet down? Those are going to be quite near the hinge for that i'd have thought mate?
Nice progress, Like the idea of the single skin bonnet
500ftlb boys and girls. Your reading the wrong figures ;)
It's been setup for a fast road really. Still though, why the fark would you want it? I know I wouldnt. ew
