i seriously dunno how the f**k i managed this. i even kept the 2 old rear tyres and brought them home for spares as they still have 5mm left on them each. and i DO...
hmm it was either toyo proxies for £52 a corner or yokos for £56 a corner (fitted etc)... i went with the proxies as they had the F1 style tread pattern
After 17000 miles on my original tyres with 2mm left on the front and 5mm left on the rear, ive just paid £207 today for 4 new toyo proxies all fitted.
Good deal ?
ive had my cup nearly 2 years now and I love it to bits. what other car can u have which will outstrip most fast cars yet still return 40mpg and it feels "raw" when youre driving it !!
If it was the STOP light it might be oil, it did that on my car when it was 1000 miles or so in... used up loads of oil and STOP light came on. Check this asap !!

for 172 cup - 195/45/R16
bought my 172 cup brand new for £11995 from renault may 2003, took out a £12k tesco loan at 6.3% over 10 years and its costing me £140/month. I can afford to pay it off quicker but Im happy paying peanuts because I plan on keeping it the full 10+ years to add to my collection of renault classics...
depends on the state of tune of the r5. With a few basic mods such as bigger carb jet, higher boost (even on std turbo), etc you can be looking at about 160-170bhp which will see off a valver...
a dump valve wont add any performance to the 5 though, it just makes a nice sound when you let off...
ok, ive covered about 16500 miles in my cup since new, and I think my front tyres (maybe all tyres) need replacing as the car seems to have really sh*t grip now. I darnt accelerate round a corner or it goes in a straight line...
Anyway, what tyres should I be looking at as replacements, and...
imo your getting used to the car.
I have a 172 cup and recently ive been thinking "its slower", I also used to have an r5 turbo which I would feel had become slow, then it would break and be off the road for 2 months and when I got back in it was like "OMFG!".
Im thinking of getting a v6 clio or maybe a vx220 turbo ... how much do u guys think my clio cup is worth heres the details :-

hmm i had a look today and it doesnt look like it goes into the timing belt casing, they look like seperate systems from what I can see. The timing belt area is all under a metal plate which is bolted into the engine (I presume to stop dirt getting in)?
aha this makes sense then because I had my power steering pump replaced under warranty back in august, they spotted this as being faulty when I had my first service. Its probably likely they havnt put the belt back centrally, at least I should be able to claim its happened due to them and be...
no, it just looks like its slightly moved to the left and hence has started freying on the left hand side (about a 1 inch strip has freyed off the left edge).
Right,
I need to get this right, is the belt down the left hand side of the engine (supposing you have the bonnet open and are standing in front of the car), is it the timing belt, or the fan belt. Basically mines started to frey on my 18 month old cup and its booked in to be changed with...
