Happened to me years ago when I had 200bhp 5 turbo... going down the A1 at midnight, not another car around... this pair of headlights came up behind me quite quick, so without further-adoo... I decided to just floor it from 60 to 110 leaving him about 300-400 metres behind me...

its a pity you cant find someone with a 172 who is prepared to swap parts with you to help you diagnose it without the expense of paying for new parts from renault....
If you want a more basic ride, but a bit of a more raw feel in the car go for the cup.. if you want gadgets and more comfort go for a normal 172...
Reliability seems to be good on the 172s, you should be able to get a 10k milage cup for about £8000-8500 with about a year or more warranty left...
yeh BRUN, I used to be a member about 4-5 years ago... I still think that what they charge for membership is excessive for what you get. From my point of view this is what I think of it:
They have in excess of 1000 members, although a few years ago when I had membership that was closer to...
yeh but whats annoying is for people who just want to ask 1 or 2 questions you have to pay £15 to join..
I just wanna ask if anyone can source me some door stickers for my 5... is it worth £15 to ask that?..
Im going to press on and make my own alternative place for those who dont want to...
Im thinking of starting a website for owners of renault 5 turbos.. theres already a popular one on the net but it charges £££ to be a member, which I think is a bit much for people who just want to access a forum to speak about the car and related matters...
If I was to setup an alternative...
hey Adam/Subway..
Just wanted to say I think your post is a bit egotistical of you, but if you want to come on here and go "My dads car > your sh*tty cars" ... then how about this..
my dads WR1 > your dads s600
my 172 cup / 5 gt-turbo / girlfriends 1.4 citroen c3 / mums corsa 1.2...

I didnt have time to react to return the flash.
i tried tesco, same details etc they quoted £573
Cupcake - im not fussed with the excess, it only applies if i have an accident which is my fault and im a careful driver.. :).. the reason i asked for that was to get the premium as low as possible.

wow, i couldnt resist not knowing the outcome so i went and done all 4 wheels... its done a real good job, you just brush it on and the caked on brakedust crap just dissolves off. still got these little dark spots in the corners it wont remove but its done a better job than scrubbing imo.
