yes, 1.8 , old dissy cap ignition. NON EFI. 4 owners, little rust anywhere. been round the world a few times.... 240k
but the engine bay is mint, not OCD clean but well looked after.
im driving it around now. actaully feels bloody lovely compaired to the other disasters.
i might take it camping, but i may have something else by the end of this week, depending if the guy will take my offer ;)
true, had a new set last year, and already had to have one replaced. f**king Delphi s**t!
wish renault made them a bosch system instead of much cheapness.
AlexW , my old engine loved it! , if it wouldnt start , bit of brakecleaner and off it went until you turned it off lol.
our works run...
Conrods shrink? With easystart lol
it'll do damage with the amount of DET it caulses.
jumping straight to injectors is a no go, simple things first like the control sensors / voltages.
Having learnt my lesson owning one of these and going through every fault possible on them.
AlexW @GrahamS
All dash lights going off?
crank sensor clean and connected?
Three little brown or black relays in the engine bay fuse box nice and clean on the spade contacts ?
Was it running beforehand in a good state ?
120 standard. 130-140 and considerable increase in torque from better FMIC/ exhaust decat and a few other bits.
Remap when all running perfect will take him to 190/200 with a few little mods. Then big silly power comes from bMW injectors and fuel pump with an inline feed pump upgrade + better...
TDIturbo's off TDOCUK forum.
Think it might if been my stupidity that killed it , thankfully it hasn't destroyed the turbin fins. Bearings look f**ked and heat blued.
Meed to get it sorted ASAP as my spare has a leak into the hot side , so it's a little smokey
its spools on idle from the...
most probs. lucky enough everything else is nice and clean, with no wear marks on from low pressure feed.
double checked oil is defiantly getting to the turbo feed, as i got my bro to start it whilst i had the banjo bolt slightly off.
sorted it, swapped turbo's with my old spare unit, boost is back with the EGR still disconnected.
the hybrid i had built.... the turbine only just rotates, with allot of force. im suspecting the bearings have started to seize up.
back off to the guy that rebuilt it!
question is why has it...
Intercooler is fine, that's near new and I've pressure tested it.
Chip - actuator is still set to stock setting , haven't adjusted it
just tried plugging the egr in.... It will not start with it plugged in lol. Unplug it and it starts
Yeah, the feed pipe for it is blocked off.
I'll try plugging it in, got a feeling it'll throw a massive fit.
had the inlet off, turbos fine and spinning.
Alex yes I did , both sides ( hot side and cold ) no excessive oil or play.
This hybrid was only rebuilt 3k ago and was perfect up until te engine had to come out.
ant, the body and egr are still on the car , just the loom unplugged from it, which don't bring the EML light on for some odd...
Haven't had the cat or the inlet pipe off to see. It was boosting before the engine came out.
Can here the turbo through the exhaust on idle but that's about it
Got a small problem. The dci has just not long had a engjne rebuild, all fine but I have no boost and it holds back after 2k rpm.
no clouds of smoke, and I can't hear the turbo spooling up.
All pipes secure , both little feed pipes to turbo wastegate actuator and map sensor are on.
Map...
nah you havent got it, scrooge knows what it is :)
mapped into the ecu , to cut the fueling scale on the injectors violently to produce an anti lag type limmiter on dervs.
doesnt do damage to the engine either.
Can't say ATM, it's been raining here the last two weeks so the rain sports have outdone the nankangs.
Test will be in the dry , wether the rain sport tyre outer blocks wear faster than the ns2's.
My old r2's wore out quick in the dry
