OK, thanks for everyones help here. I think i'll go and give it a quick layer of red as a final coat and then lacquer it soon afterwards before it fully dries. Fingers crossed!
Can I buy some decent lacquer on the high street or do i need to order online? I think i'll try the one final coat then wait 30 mins technique. Cheers.
I'm a complete paint spraying novice, so some suggestions on what is a good lacquer would be appreciated. Halfrauds must sell hundreds of cans of lacquer a day, it can't be that s**te can it?
You also see my problem as a novice when I get both different answers within the first few posts! :(...
I'm fixing up a damaged Cup spoiler back to former glory and painting it Trophy red. I've bought grey primer, red paint and clear lacquer. I've done base coats and the paint layer (last coat went on about 3pm yesterday).
To achieve the best results do i take advice from someone that said that...
I'm only 24 but yet I feel so out of touch these days. I really think the green suits the car. Maybe wrap the roof in green to match, or glue some earth to the roof and plant grass seeds? When it grows it'll look mint (green). Sort of.
I know, I keep getting reminded by she who must be obeyed that I have too many of them. Watch this space (or lack of)!
I'm spending 10 mins here and there painting and repairing my Cup spoiler. I hate spray painting but it's getting there.
No lacquer yet though.
Sorry for the delayed reply! The guy fitting the cage has done all that for me so i don't know the specifics, but he said they were plated top and bottom. It's all to comply with scruiteneering etc. The car is still at the prep garage having the finishing touches to the cage sorted so I can't...
I musta dmit this is the one job that fills me with dread. I've cut back most of the airbag wires but i've quit whilst i'm ahead and left it at that. Strangely i've got no airbag lights on the dash either. Can't quite work that one out as yet tbh. Bloody Renaults.
No plans to fiddle with engine at all. It's a complete waste of time and money on an F4R in my opinion. I'd rather spend the money on the suspension being honest.
Doing all I can myself, but the cage and seats have been put in properly and I expect the bill to be a 4 figure sum. It's all been...
Just the Race. The Race plus is a bit extreme unless you're going touring car racing imo. Even this one is pretty hardcore when compaired with your usual 6 point thing most use.
I wasn't expecting any further progress on the car until after Christmas but Gareth has been cracking on at pace!
"Having fitted one seat, a rather nice Sparco S Light Circuit, I had some concerns that the second seat would be a bit of a squeeze. Jon had only left one seat with me, so his dad...
Cheers. Unfortunately the car is being worked on quite a way from where I live and i'm not going to see it again in person until the end of January. If i remember though i'll measure it for you.
The best way I think. I'm no expert, but just took plenty of time when i took it all apart, taking...
I think it's been in that state for a while mate. There are a few drops of oil leaking out so it's not totally bone dry. I must admit the back of the BM is pretty low so i rocked it onto the boot lip and then just went for it, lol! It's not moved since as i'm still waiting for the extended cog...
