I've bought one of those as I could never be arsed to fit this:

Caddy things?
No, not stash drive. It was the drive I used to take up and down the country with me. It's done about 40,000 miles via train, car, airplane and even Royal Mail trucks more than once when I forgot it! It's had a hard life but always worked fine until the other day.
It does have...
Yeah, it'd been in the office for 24hrs or so before I plugged it in. I wondered that though.
I've read about swapping the leads but as the light is coming up and something sounds like it's spinning round I thought it pointless, i've tried it anyway - no change.
Wondering if anyone can help?
I've had a Samsung S2 320gb thing for about 18 months. It sat in the car for a month and went to plug it in the other day. The blue light on the drive illuminates and then nothing happens, but I can hear it spinning away. The drive doesn't appear in the My Computer...
Well they'll need changing as an absolute priority. The cambelt kit is circa £110 and the dephaser about £155. Unless you have all the correct locking tools (another £150) you're best visiting a specialist. Please don't attempt it without these as you will screw up the timing. As said though...
Agreed Fred, great to have Mark onboard.
Surely standard (therefore must be idiot proof) is fine for a 60 sec Autotest?
I'd be going for the DS3000, lets not talk about the 2500 things.
You learn something new everyday I guess. I'm watching ebay like a hawk at the mo, but i'm not too fussed as i've not many journey's south to make over the next few months.
£186 each is a great price, they've certainly gone up in that size.
No mate, I bought some 15" E46 alloys and 4 new tyres for them back in the autumn. Went to put them on last week and they went on fine at the back but didn't fit up front. Turns out all Sport models have to have 16" as a minimum as standard. Luckily they sold pretty quickly. I'm contemplating...
lol, £300 a piece?
[Idiot Alert] I fitted mine the other day, only I didn't as they didn't clear the brakes. [/Idiot alert]
Have sold them for what I paid for them and i'm now on the lookout for a larger set.
My dad always got 33 out of his 197 (with the shorter gearbox). You've all got heavy right feet.
200 obviously has the better gear ratios that the later 197's had.
And flat edge facing the head or the pulley? (exhaust and inlet?)
Thanks guys. I bought some non genuine seals, but felt dirty, so i've ordered the genuine kit again. Sigh.
As above. I think the seal should go flush against the face of the head/rocker cover before fitting the dephaser pulley, has anybody got a picture of it all? I don't want to screw it up a second time as it's been an expensive mistake this. :dapprove:
..assuming the exhaust seal sits flush as well?
I watched some last night, but as there's been very little snow anywhere this year it's a bit stale. They are spraying fake snow n the course but it wears very quickly.
Does look great on the Eibachs! Tempting...
Had mine serviced, mot'd and the brake fluid done at a specialist yesterday. £196 all in and another 18k of hassle free motoring ahead.
There are plenty of gearboxes available if you look hard enough for them. A secondhand box should set you back about £250.
£14k? Really? I've spent a lot, but nowhere near that!
Nice car Mark. Was going to ask if Rich had found you one as I knew you were looking, but I guess you found this by yourself in the end?
We'll have to catch up soon.
Hi mate. Yeah, reading up a bit it seems as long as the pulley tool is genuine you are ok with the others being Laser/Sealey parts. Reason being the pulley tool should be the one that takes all the strain. I've purchased a second hand gen reno pulley tool and will probably end up with...
