It's worth saying that buying winter tyres (part worn) off of ebay is a bit of a flase economy. I've read winter tyres tend to go off the boil a bit with 4mm left on them. You'll notice most on ebay are sold with 4mm of tread left.
Cheers chaps. Shell, i'm in Langley Moor.
I'm currently trying to buy a set of locking tools as cheap as possible in order to sort out the oil leak myself in a few weeks time. Reading up, it shouldn't be a bad job - though cheapest I can find a cambelt for (belt only) is £45.
I've got a brand new set of 4 sitting in the garage waiting to go on. I spent 14 hours in the car last year because of the snow and I'm making every effort to ensure that doesn't happen again!
I've been buying a few bits over the last few weeks.
New bootlid to replace the one with a dent in it on the car (phase 2 rear end now complete)
Spare engine project:
Complete bottom end (that i'll strip and rebuild)
Also, had a brief trip out last night to a cold Middlesborough and...
Not updated this for a while, but I paid a passing visit to the Clio this weekend. This is all a bit copied and pasted from Northloop, but:
(Uncle Benz is Gareth, the guy working on the car)
The passenger seat will be mounted in the exact same way.
The cage is looking marvellous, I'm really...
You could just change the pulley and then get the existing belt timed back up again. It's not best practice as whilst the whole lot is off you might as well replace, but it'll save you £100 on parts. Being a Cup as well, it's not a massive amount of ballache. I'm sure Ktec will advise.
I'm going to see the final stages of my Oreca Race cage being fitted tomorrow. By all accounts it's gone in really well without to much hassle. I've paid someone who knows what they are doing to fit it properly.
I'd question the need to get a Race Plus cage unless you were very serious about...
£50 maybe. It was a bare block and you were taking a punt on the condition of it. Was going to cost a few quid in fuel to collect so £20 was my top offer.
I didn't intend for him to do that, but he's obviously a sucker for punishment. I'd bought a new heatgun to do it myself.
Yes, door crosses are going in and harness bars.
