Check the connections , including the wiring going from boot to roof in the rubber pipe.
i had this and it turned out to be a wire shaving against the metal on the inside from the rubber pipe

theres your problem, the 65 injectors are completely different to the 80/100 injectors.
i cant see how that will effect it that bad tho unless its smoking like a yanktank
mine with the c220 merc turbo doesnt even sound loud, motorways no drones or anything.
it only sounds grunty when floored. and yeah the turbo kills most of it with spool noises !
all i will say is dont be an idiot like my mate did and cut the pipes of the back box to short.... i can put mine...

yes you are right on the elbow, only real reason i did the proper decat was i cba with faffin to try take the standard cat out when i needed to gain access down the back.
get the back box off lol, bit of a laugh tbh

Tbh as long as you don't run the tank to the red the fuel pump will last 100k miles ect.

Btw have you smashed the cats internals out?
If you have, fab a proper 3inch pipe up to replace it. Found out I was losing 10-14...

ive fixed my pump aswell, thankfully im not stupid and kept all my other 4 pumps LOL
one of the pressure pistons inside had locked solid.
