OK, so.. after the MOT, it failed on several things which included:
Handbrake cable not being effective enough.
Rear seat belt not locking.
3 illegal tyres and 1 close to the limit.
Ball joint perished.
Play in the steering arms.
This has been a busy week for the little mite and it now has new...
Cambelt 100%. Make sure it's done by a specialist as well. Find out if/when it was done and who by and then update this thread and one of us will let you know.
Seems like it was a great day. Seems from this thread there's a few people I would've liked to have met (and some not so much, cough, @NorthloopCup , splutter) so hopefully see you all at CSF.
Photobucket have blocked third party hosting. @Nik is working on a fix at the minute.
If you want to host your own images, use the "upload an image" button then select "full image" once it's uploaded.
So the inevitable happened, as it always does. O/S balljoint is f*cked and as most of you are aware, Renault won't sell these separately and will only sell the full hub assembly (as these are pressed in).. but @MicKPM came to the rescue as he has on more than one occasion and managed to sort me...
Flexis are noisy 24/7 when they blow.
Doubt it's them. If it is, it's not dangerous to drive.
You need to buy the new flexi and get that delivered before you can weld it in.
Subframe dropped to get the exhaust manifold off. Long old task.
A lot of people change for the Toyosport manifold when...
@MicKPM at Diamond Motors Nottingham is well worth the 70 miles or so trip, especially if the car has been sat so long I'm sure he can offer advice on what needs to be done. Welcome back to the club!
Discs look okay mate but could definitely do with a refresh. Don't think they'd be an MOT failure from what I can see personally but definitely an advisory.
