Sounds bizarre but make sure there isn't any fluff or shite in the phones charging port. All my iPhones have behaved really strangely when there is and it comes to plugging it in.
I just use a can of compressed air and a pin. Be careful not to scratch the contacts though.
Untrusting a device...
Have you had a screen replacement at all? If so, TouchID becomes nulled. Alternatively, if the phones out of warranty, pop it open and see if the connection is loose.
Bought the stereo, the harness for this to fit the existing loom, a connects2 lead to retain the steering wheel controls and then lastly a fascia surround so it fit nicely. All in all, realistically, half hour job to do the lot. Wiring the stand alone microphone up the a-pillar and managing to...
This is a similar model to the one in my 197 - can't fault it. Just make sure you get the Connects2 adapter to retain the steering wheel controls:

Don't worry mate, I'm not on commission but with these cars history is a lot more important than mileage. Just something to think about in your search!
