Sorry should have said, this is on a 182 so I use a sandwich plate with the sensors in. You could use one as well, it's fine to double stack the OEM with another.

PBS pads all round are the best budget option in my opinion. I've ran the setup for 2 years now and don't see the need to change anytime soon. Used to run CL's but the friction material kept falling off the backing plate. I put it down to cold wet use and them not liking it.

You can get the belt on it's own. Looks like the top alternator bolt has come out/broken.

If he does try and start the car, at least take the belt out the way. If that ends up round the cambelt you're knackered.

DON'T refit the belt. It's likely the tensioner has failed! P.S. you lucky lucky b*****d.

It's only really there to raise the revs at low speed/idle. Whining noise is just the pump, they all do it but if it's particularly loud it'll be on its way out. Check your fluid level.

Louis did his hubs with it and never had a problem iirc. It shouldn't be removing not rusty stuff 🤔
