Intresting design that. Ford uses like a screw thread on the VCT pullys on the 1.7 puma engine. The Ford unit is much more complex but you never hear of it going wrong.

HAHAHAHA he was telling me about that only the other day. Yes he has, but the engine he had cracked the block at est. 550-600bhp so hes in the prosses of fitting a saab turbo engine insted as there good for 400bhp without changing a thing! Pritty impressive i think. If anyone had some pictures...

The exhaust manifold snapped. Common problem apparenty. He just whipped it off and welded it up. Bashed it back on and all was good :) The fire started due to a gearbox oil leak. The oil soaked into the heat wrap on the manifold and caught light. Nothing major at all really :)

It caught fire. Nothing major tho. The marchels were so quick on hand that it was put out so quick, it caused no damage at all.

Ph1 172 is mine and the willys my best mate chips :) The mk2 172 cup is porkies :)

I need some wheels to chuck on my 172 just to drive to castle combe a back on as my 888s will not be legal to drive home on. I don't care what the look like or are, I just wondered if anyone knew if a set of 14inch steels would fit? Cheers

I've had 4clios that have done this now. 2 of them came in running and wouldn't start after an engine change. All 4 I replaced the engine bay loom and they fired straght up :)

what do people have there wheel alignment set too? im on 40mm springs and its stripped out cheers

What do people recomend for a PH1 172? It has 40mm lowing springs and will be used a mainly a track car but some road use as well. Not looking to chuck mega money at it but something middle of the road would be nice :)

Why are people getting so upset over an 8k limmit. If theres power all the way to the limmiter why not use it. If the engine dies, I'll fit a new one.

Its not that massivly expensive. Just find a car, Nothing too fancey. Im a total novice so a standard car will do me fine. Take the weigh out of it and then add the bits it needs as your skill gets better and requires it. :)
