I've always found them spot on mate, mind you, i supose it depends on what one you buy. And no, as im sure you know, you can't use a vern-er full stop to measure ring gaps :)
It has improved the top end power but hasn't lost any mid range. It doesn't bolt straight on, the head needs a couple of holes drilled and tapped as the pattern is different to standard inlet.
It made 182.3 bhp.
Thanks. Going to go for a reliable 240 + bhp. Yes, aircon is going.
Hey,
I'm Jack from MWMSport. This is my Ph1 172 that I bought shortly after Mike bought his.
I brought it for £600 off eBay with a snapped cambelt.
We started to rebuild the old engine but the cambelt snap had caused more damaged than we first thought.
We travelled from Staines too...
The engine parts have finally arrived back from the machine shop!- Engine part p**n inside this post!
After shite service from a local machine shop, they have finally delivered the goods and appart from there crap customer service, there work is as always TOP!
Work I had done:-
Pistons weight...
Thats a 172 engine with the 197 inlet on it, just to prove it could be done.
We still need to finalise the map at the moment but it seems to have given some good results. It wasn't the main reason for fitting the manifold tho. All we really wanted to know is if it would fit in the space given...
Small update today.
Ive decidied I want the car too be 1000kg with me in it. That gave me too options. Lighten me or Lighten the car!
So today I started by taking out the dash and removing the sound deading from behind it and removing anything elce I felt I could live without.
As it...
Right, Im having some troubles with Outlook 2007.
This is what I want to do and im not sure if its possable, well I can't get it to work anyway.
We have a computer in the workshop, It has outlook on it, which is linked to our Gmail email account. We want to use the calender on it to take all...
I don't know why the pictures look like that. I think its the angle they've been taken. When you see them on the car they look fine. The tops of the pad are over the top of the disc by about 1-2mm
Small Update:- The Brembo's Are On :)
I wanted to upgrate the brakes on the clio without moving to bigger wheels (size 15inch) and I didn't want to use wheel spacers either. I found a cheap set of 406 Coupe Brembo 4 pot calipers and I came up with this..........
Normal brakes, Forgive the...
Ive got gaz's and can't really see where all this bad feedback is. They are slightly more raw on the road than others but tey really do well on track. For the money they cost im over the moon with them.
Anyone know who sell the supercharger mounting bracked for the clios. The one i saw was a hole new bracket that housed the supercharger, ault and power steering pump. Are the other brackets avalible? If so, any idea who sells them
Cheers
Thank you for the kind words. I should have another update soon as alot of the engine parts are coming back from the machine shop this week, ready for the engine build. I've also ordered some billet alloy to make the caliper brackets with :)
I'm a turbo nut! A lag addict! When that boost comes in, its just a totally awesome feeling.
The pure reason I'm going for a rotrex is in hope that the linner power delivery will spare the gearbox from shitting itself every time I push the go button.
I'm experimenting at the moment, getting a...
Ive got a sliver top zetec turbo setting about waitng for a good home. Although I think jacks Mk2 XR2 has dibs on that lol.
Focus RS engines are massivly pricey. I gave 2k for the one from the van.
The transit took about 2 weeks to build fully. This however is going to take quite a bit longer. It sounds silly but this is actully a much bigger scale project. Also I thought RS tax was bad on parts. Clio Rs tax seems to be new level! lol
I hope it will be at Trax, on the standard management...
It was the exhaust I hated most on that van. I needed a custom one and as you can imagine no one sold a 3 inch system for a connect. I went down the local powerflow to get them to make me a system. The plan was never to have it as loud as it was, I actully wanted a quite system to add to the...
Hi and welcome to my project thread,
I'm sure I had one before but I couldn't find it, so here the new one :D
I ended up owning this phase 1 Renault Sport Clio 172 by acedent really. I was always a Ford man at heart, (still am deep down.) I took it in part ex as an non runner. I traced the...
I think this manifold will start to work well when used with other mods.
We are going to be turboing this car soon, so it will be intresting to see how things work then.
