Cheers Fred, I'll get the cash together + contingency. 2 small questions I'm guessing you will need to hold onto the car for a few days and as the engine is coming out would you change the manifold to a 4-2-1 ? Only reason I ask is because I hope this is the last time it's out and there an arse...
I think this is lack of lube on the sliders, mines knocked since I got it and ive just had to tackle 2 seized sliders and 2 dry ones... Check ya lube !
Dread to ask the question, but how much am I looking at for full belt change with depahser and water pump and sorting that gearbox (assuming it just needs a small repair and not a full rebuild)
I've got a vid from inside the car which shows a slightly bobbing idle, I was going to get the belts changed soon anyway to be honest along with the water pump and dephaser so if it is shot it's no biggie (Unless it goes between now and then)
New ICV fitted also
(Oh its also worth mentioning I...
Which one Danny ? if I depress the clutch the noise does quieten down a little from the gearbox, if I prod the accelerator the noise increases with the rev's but I'm fairly certain there isn't any knocking from the left hand side of the engine, just a light tapping/clicking from the front/middle...
Most of that noise is from the gearbox although it is difficult to make out, there isn't alot of noise coming from the cam cover area - more from the middle of the inlet which im guessing in the injectors
Got a strange niggle (That will no doubt end up being a huge issue) from the gearbox that I've not seen before. Basically on idle the car ticks, now the confusing part is it isn't the engine its the gearbox ! Looking at the fork I can see it wobbling like mad :S depressing the fork lightens the...
Just been through this one myself, it takes time (Took me 2 days) to get right but the quality was good. Small drill and take off the rubber connector between the door and car and enlarge 2 of the holes (Some are unused and some have wire in them that serve no purpose, just check to see if it...

95% standard as it has clear side repeaters lol

Actually found a better way of doing this.
Remove the speakers plug and set the radio to front left then pop the component on each spade til you get audio
Sorted !
Hi,
I'm 90% of the way through getting my components hooked up but Ive hit a bot of a wall with the rear of the radio, I'm hooking the conponets directly to the back of the radio bit having aggro finding the left and right positive and negative as Renault in epic electrical skills coloured alot...
Did it on my 1.4 too, bit of a phantom issue - I fixed it by removing the 3 screws on the pedal, cleaning all of the connectors and ensuring it is plugged in properly. Has not came back since happily :)
Exactly as you say, the lights come on, the revs are limited to 3k and the performance is...
Just me that uses computer grade IPA then :o
I've been hesitant to use the stuff on paint for obvious reasons so iv'e not used it on a car yet, just on the spare bumper I've been practising on which was resprayed fairly thick so that might be why it has not touched it.
What dilution ratios do...
I've only recently started gather my detailing pieces and was chatting to a friend who works at Nissan, he mentioned about IPA and how it is damaging to clear coats. I had a look around and came across the below article:
