Tried some toyo proxes r1r out today for first time.
Actually my first use of a track tyre.
Tested on road. Their part worn and came on a set of f1 wheels I purchased.
Very surprised at the difference! Can really push very hard out of roundabouts with no sign of tyres letting go, can feel...
No mate. Done it literally as described in the post. Just wet n dry.
Its only when you use the g3 scratch remover they actually look better! It is scary. Looks initially like you ruined your headlights. [emoji5]
Bizarre. .. cars fixed itself. Lol
Came home this weekend. Started car, no blowing noise. No water dripping either.
Took it to local ATS and they check it and couldn't see anything.
Just keep an eye on it and if any issues take it there for a 're seal.
Was it all a dream? Lol
Got my hands on the car this morning. Good news. Wheels are on and all ok now.
Took a grinder to the front bolts to shave approximately 2mm off all front bolts. Rears are fine as their stub type spacers.
Thanks for the help all. Forum saves the day yet again!
Worst pic ever taken...
@msremmert They look great, I'd be up for that. Don't fancy getting a speeding ticket!
Not that we will be going crazy speeds but 40mph is a little slow! And if they are enforcing it, then the weekends will be when their out in force.
@Phase1sr Am I right in saying the standard are 28mm?
Seen 25mm bolts online and 19mm.
Seen as you've been there and done it, would the 25mm be short enough? I'd like to have as much thread in there as possible.
Not much to say about that is there..... just absolutely insanely f**king amazingly awesome!
Love exige and this is just stunning. What insane performance.
Ultimate track toy!
After talking to various people it's fairly normal for there to be slight differences in the arch gap.
I've had it on Hunter system twice and they've not mentioned anything, the rears fixed anyway so no adjustments to be made.
I fitted the spacers and all suspension at the same time, so...
Great. Thanks bud. So that's confirmed the problem i have then [emoji5]
Dunno weather to order shorter bolts as don't want to f**k the threads up, I probably would [emoji14]
And your still awake? [emoji3]
Thanks mate. Should have some more pics this weekend with the F1s fitted on. They look great.
Could do with 're writing the thread and thinning it out a bit.
It might be a while before using the ns2r as I already have some toyo tyres on the summer/track...
Have one to fit myself. Hopefully changes easier than yours. Lol.
Already have another mount with bushes in it. So out with one in with other. What could be easier?! [emoji11]
Yeah. Got it booked at a local exhaust garage Saturday.
Thinking about it I might book it in a long life type place instead for them to fix. May be a safer bet for a good job.
I'm running 15mm hubcentric spacers.... so you may be onto something there guys. [emoji106] [emoji5]
They were fine with standard wheels but maybe different on these as the bolt may go further into the wheel than on the standards.
Going to try them without the spacers on when I get back to...
Won't be back with the car till Saturday. No rings. As my car had standard alloys and these came off a ph1. So their all direct fit alloys.
I have hears their like cheese before.
They didn't even get past 10mph and 1/4 a mile so wouldn't have had time to vibrate loose.
I bolt the alloys...
Got some 2nd hand renault oz f1. Fitted them but as soon as I pulled off there was a clunking from front end on every rotation, even at 10mph
Pulled back in home. Jacked up and the front right wheel I could rock back and forth on the hub by hand almost 1mm.
Took it off, cleaned both faces...
Thanks mate.
Yeah. I did Google and it says they produce water etc. Was just a bit alarmed at how much was coming out. I suppose as engine was cold more Would be produced until at running temp
Just paranoid it's a gasket failure. [emoji33] Sounds like it's ok though. Just fix the blow.
I only drove it a minute. No lights came on while it was idling.
Had an issue with new alloys I fitted so had to park it up anyway and spotted this at same time.
So haven't been able to take it out for a proper run.
Too scared to take it to London with me now too, incase exhaust collapsed...
Well that sounds good news. Is that part leaking just a separate clamp that joins the cat and center pipe? Just replace the center clamp.
Or is the clamp part of the exhaust and would need cutting off and a new clamp fitted/welded on?
Will get it booked in garage next Sat. Would be handy to...
After jacking the car up a few times fiddling with new alloys, I drove the car up and down the street, not even 1/4 mile. Wouldn't have even warmed up.
When I got out of the car I could hear the exhaust blowing in center section.
Got down to have a look and not only was it blowing by the cat...
Omg. Amazing shots! Its perfection. Don't like using the term stance much, but this has a perfect stance!
I'll show her pics of you car and of they aren't enough to convince her this is the next car to get there's something wrong with her!
Looks spot on. Love ph1 front end.
Good choice.
I look forward to the supercharger everyone keeps mentioning [emoji41] [emoji106]
Awesome previous cars too! Would love a ring trip myself
