And the part number for the crank pulley bolt is 8200608653 8.95 + VAT.

Just not as loud yet, and his was definatly dephaser. I've pm'd him to see if it done it from cold. but it sounds nothing like yours.
So they say. Mine definately sounds funny from cold. My noise is definatly coming from the camshaft area!. more so on the timing side. So I can only think it is dephaser.
Never mind about the part numbers, I've found them
TDC/Crank Pin - 0000105400 - £8.98
Extra Longer Cog + Spacers + Nut - 0000150901 - £16.56
Camshaft Locking Tool - 0000149600 - £40.50
Pulley Locking Tool - 7711381801 - £40.50
For anyone else who needs them.
But can someone confirm what...
Anyone know the part numbers for the tools?.
Do I need anything else apart from the Dephaser pulley, camshaft end caps and tools?.
I'm sure I read somewhere you should renew the crank nut/bolt?
It also says in the F4R workshop manual that you should renew the dephaser bolt, exhaust...
Looks like you lads had a good day. I was going to come but I didn't think ahead and renew my car tax before the weekend doh!, my dephaser is fucked and I was out in town untill 3am lol!.
Maybe next time. Cars are looking good.
its not far off Jack, labour is over 200 quid, tools are going to cost me in the region of 100. I've always done my own work in the past on all my motors and i enjoy it, plus i can sell the tools at a later date. I'm not sure what to do yet, its come at a bad time tbh! Always the way.
I think I've seen your home made jobby Danny :D.
Ok I'm waiting on some prices from wests renault on here for the tools. So I'll see what he comes up with.
Is it worth spending the extra money for genuine belt kits?.
Ok Mick.
I'm having trouble deciding how far to go with it to be honest. I'm not sure weather to fit a new timing belt kit and aux belt kit. They were both done in 2009 at 36k and its on 63k now. The timing belts not due for ages yet.
Obviously it would be nice to change them all but its...
Can anyone please confirm these are the tools needed for dephaser replacement...

Ok so last Sunday I noticed my car making an unusual noise. Originally I thought it was the PAS pump but under closer inspection it sounds like its coming from top end.
I know the common thing seems to be dephaser, so I've taken some vids, if anyone could give me some input? It sounds...
bit of a mixed bag one motor factors told me 118 + vat for a new unit apparently but thats on an exchange basis? And the other one i tried said 180 + vat for a recon unit lol strange.
I think the system with the cat on is perfect to be honest. Not too loud. I put a decat on mine about two weeks ago, and it sounded epic but was just too loud for where I use the car. So I stuck my cat back on after running the decat for two weeks and it seems so quiet in comparison lol. So yeah...
Yeah Fred, I realised after I started the thread.
I've got the F4R workshop manual so I've been looking at that. Looks like you gotta remove quiet a lot to get it out.
